This is how the lads feel

The case is being by most national papers, and once Steve takes it to Crown Court who knows?

We cannot afford to keep losing venues due to development or so called security issues,

If they were a member of BASC and it was an incident involving shooting, they might be provided with a lawyer as part of their membership.

Perhaps an angling association with legal insurance would stand a chance of becoming a representative voice for 'all' anglers.

Sounds like it's long overdue!

I shall have to check to see if the Countryside Alliance have such insurance.

A sad reflection on how things are going.

Our ports do need security measures put in place.

The threat of terrorist attack in our country is a very real threat.

If that means looseing a FISHING venue, then so be it.

Bye the looks of things, these guys had the oppertunity to gain permission to fish, and chose not to bother, so I cant feel any sympathy for them at all.

We have the Royal Marine training centre near to us, and there is some good Flounder grounds at the rear of the base, it is out of bounds to civilians, and we respect that.

GF, I agree it is a total waste of tax payers money, why could the police not escort the two lads off the docks? But now that is has gone this far, it will be used as a vehicle to highlight the decreasing areas, we can fish. I only know about Liverpool docks, are other local docks now closed or restricted to anglers?

Are some of us fisherman so short sited and selfish ??

If there are security concerns with our ports, then we should do all we can to support the measures put in place.

Or shall we leave the back door open for all to kick the chit out of our country, just so people can fish where they like.

If an incident occured, these selfish people would proberbly be the first to cry, "why were we not protected, why is there no security in our ports, how did the terrorists get the gear into our country to cause the mayhem"

Choose where you fish more carefully, and look at the bigger picture.
