  2. maggot feeder and maggots as hookait you wont go wrong there and another thing is, if you watch your line and it moves up and then then down dont strike wait until the fish acctually takes the bait carp tactics are also good for bream and youve also got a chance of catching tench aswell as carp and bream mike

  8. hi errrm if your going to try a new bait at this lake then what i would do is to chuck a few worms in 1-2 days before you go to introduce the fish to the new baits and get them feeding confidently. if worms work i dont realy no all lakes are different so the fish may not like worms but they usualy work for tench. if its not usaly fished and youve introduced modern day baits too them then the'll be more confident in taking your bait. as for catching tench and bream at my lake that i fish at i use carping methods boilies and pellets and it works a trat for the carp, tench and bream so just experiment with the lake hope this helps you mike
  9. hi all many times that Ive been fishing and almost every time Ive seen a carp/fish jump now what i would like too no is why do they jump my mate told my that its to clean there gills out and other people have said that its because they like to get a bit of air... all help is greatly appreciated mike
  10. Ive never actually made a mistake in buying baits but my friend has he brought what said to be squid and octopus boilies and they didn't smell like squid and octopus they smelt of rat food so i brought some squid and octopus ones from a different brand and they smelt completely different mike
  11. hi there perhaps you should bait the swim up where your going to fish to get the fish feeding confidently so when you get there that night they wont hesitate to take your bait also you should try to be quiet and check the weather before you go, because if its going to rain then you'll need to take a shelter of some sort. the rig that i use is a braided ledger with a hair rigged boilie but thats for my lake you need to experiment with your lake and learn what the fish like there and the best place to cast would be either near a bank and maybe near lilies but lilies are better for tench good luck mike
