  1. C'mon..you can even download one as a free app for the iphone.... Get a bloody life! I watch the games without volume on and sub-titles...the typo's are more entertaining than the games.
  2. Nice to know that even with a moose for a wife, he can still make wood and inflict pain upon the Bishop.
  3. A friend of mine worked as a long-term foster carer, one of whose charges was born with heroin addiction. As a by-product of his withdrawal symptoms, a 13 year old can't cope without an intake of 40 cigarettes a day, and when I refused to take him out with us as I will not allow children under age to smoke in my care, I was looked upon as an ogre. I saw my father die as a result of smoking... like I'm going to help other people go the same way. The kid has never been encouraged to try will power, even by the social workers. GRRRRRRRR!
  4. Perhaps he was referring to a need to keep his heroin route open?
  5. Was it him, his partner or the journalists who were camping on his doorstep?
  6. So the bull lost the horn? I once told a friend that she was so ugly she gave me a hard off!
  7. Chesters, if we don't know what causes autism not only is it ludicrous to suggest something DOES cause it, it is morally wrong to assert something does cause it without concrete proof - as was the case in Wakefield's 'research'. The whole sad affair taints medical research, investigative journalism and the law with a rancid whiff. Nobody comes ou of this with a reputation enhanced.
  8. The Samsung Extreme is about as robust as they get... but functionally it's pretty basic. It's a fact of life at present, the more features the phone has, the more unreliable and fragile they are. Just a clue.... last Monday at work, I probably dealt with 22 damaged phone issues at work. That was a quiet day.....
  9. Walsh is a poacher-turned-gamekeeper - he was once a union official of BALPA until he climbed up the greasy pole. God help us all.
  10. Well, I've had the angioplasty and am at home nursing a rather sore groin. I hope the procedure works as it will cure the angina and opssible the arrhythmia which has plagued me for nigh on 12 months. As for Steve, I'm down in Kent on 9/10th June and have the phones for you abnd Peggy with me. Good luck from a very, very frustrated Stubbs. :-(
  11. I was listening to the radio over the last few days and was getting rather irritated by Alistair Darling's moans about press releases about the financial state of the country. He said 'It's the oldest trick in the book - blaming the outgoing administration for all the ills' I hate to sound curmudgeonly and pompous but the Scot's tw*t overlloks a few salient points.... When he became Chancellor, he was left a note and half a bottle of scotch - the note said '....there is no money' - and he wasn't going to slag off his boss, was he? The only reason his predecessor couldn't do it was that he said he was going to stay with the already announced spending plans of Kenneth Clark - one of the best Chancellors we ever had - actually handing over a fundamentally strong economy which cannot be said of Darling and Brown.
  12. My cartoon heroes are Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck - both anarchists. As Bugs hs already appeared, I'm going to opt for Daffy Duck - for whom the word ACME = FAIL
  13. I hope the trip is safe and enjoyable for you all.
  14. "Neandertal DNA, This might answer a few questions Certainly explains the inhabitants of parts of Runcorn.
  15. The problem with PR is that it's all too easy to end up with exactly the MP you didn't want. It's interesting that the only parties who clamour for PR are those who don't have critical mass. No system is perfect, but first past the post is the best available IMHO. If you have a party system, the party with most seats in an election should form a government. In this way, the parties who polled most votes in a constituency get the person elected who stood under their maniefsto and the person / party who attracted most votes in the constituency rightly gets elected.
  16. Talking to me brought excitement to your life????
  17. I already wished Elton all the best - and AN which was 11 years old on 1st May
  18. Hi Jim, I hope it was a great day.
  19. I'll call you on 1/5/2010 Budgie - with a shopping list. Stubbsy
  20. On the radio yesterday, they interviewed people whose insurers had already called 'Act of God' on them. I suggest the policy holders ask God to come and give evidence. That and 'Force majeure' will open up a whole can of worms as they then leave themselves open to all manner of ancilliary claims which would need to be tested. I think the ombudsman will be working overtime for months to come.
  21. Fortunately not. I've been to a Fishing Republic store once. That should tell you all you need to know... that I'd sooner go elsewhere.
  22. Up here in Liverpool the wrens are in abundance...I've seen more in the last 3 weeks than in the whole of last year. There are also a lot of greenfinch - more so than I've seen for a while, but chaffinch have declined. Purely an observation, of course, but quite noticeable.
  23. It was as a result of flying through the cloud of ash - indistinguishable in the air from a meteorological cloud - that caused the engines on a Boing 747 to fail. The plane 'glided' for 30 minutes before the pilot managed to get a couple of engines started, although overrunning badly, and had enough control to land the plane. They still meet as a group of 'survivors' on the anniversary.
  24. Not only do they faff about with cod quotas, they try to smoke us out. Gives a new bent to smoked fish.
  25. If nothing else a trench should have been dug and the paper left to biodegrade.....we NEVER let Scouts or Cubs start a fire without supervision. I feel someione's licence being removed. I hope they get charged.
