  1. I was under the impression that all artificial baits were to target carp, as other fish hardly touch them...
  2. Thats what I heard, all fines goto central Government. I bought my License online. Check this. My reply from the EA, "Dear Stuart Thank you for your e-mail regarding your rod licence. This has bee passed on to our Rod Licensing Team for attention and theywill be in touch with you shortly. Your rod licence will normally take about 5 working days to get to youfrom when you purchased it. If you bought your licence between 11-14March there will be a delay due to technical problems. You are stillentitled to fish provided that you have the confirmation page from theinternet and proof of identification. Kind Regards Donna BrownCustomer Service AdvisorNCCCSheffield08708 506 506" Mine was ordered the 13th March, still no license. However I can't really complain about the after care, they was quite quick. I will post again when the license turns up. See how long that takes.
  3. What you doin, I have already given you a pole float conversion guide? Buy a set of them stots like me because the smaller stots are easier to use than round uns. If we glue both our heads together we might actually catch!!!

    Hemp

Or for the Expanda Pellets if you use them.
  5. StuGlynn

    Help!

Its not so bad as long as you appear to know how to use it.
  6. Fair comment, reading the original post, "last day of the season" it's obviously from a river so should be preds, but if this was from a puddle dug in a field somewhere there would not necessarily be any pike etc so could cause further problems I suppose thats the argument many would use.
  7. StuGlynn

    Hemp

I just boil it for use as loose feed some open up some don't. I boil it in large quantities then sieve it off and bag it into session sized portions. I throw the bags into the freezer and take them out as needed. This works for me and means im only preparing hemp say once a month or two and not every week
  8. Could have just been the right thing to do!!!!
  9. Shimano reels are great but I do believe that Okuma actually make a lot of reels for other Brands to label and sell, so they must be of a good quality. Somebody correct me if I am wrong. I have only ever had one for beachcasting and it still works.
  10. http://www.vetscite.org/publish/items/002386/index.html Googled the words used in the article. Must be toxic the guys on the boat have respiratary gear on
  11. I would like to think of myself as quite the alrounder, and I hate football its men chasing men in shorts aint it.
  12. Nice one it did take a minute too click though....
  13. Now now girls lets be nice!
  14. I have had a look at the book and inbetween all the pages of adverts they don't even mention the website (shame), If they have given up on it through lack of interest by members what would you expect if they are not even made aware it exists. Or maybe noone had the time to run it.
  15. I looked at that bit, I thought somebody might be in the know on here ahh well!
  16. The Wigan AA website appears to be down at the moment, does anyone have any idea what the problem is? I know the site was out of date a little (lot) lol, but could still be used for general info and locations, I can get bugger all now and it costs £1.50ish for a map book
  17. Already ordered one mate, cheers anyhow!
  18. I dont bother with the weather, I just get out there and do a bit, it will either happen or it won't!!
  19. Could it not be a problem with the reel, Have you tried it on two differant reels or just the one twice?
  20. I got a pair of prescription polarised glasses the other week, I used them last weekend for fishing. The sun was strong and with normal glasses on the surface of the pond was just white. I popped on the shades (felt like a tit in winter) and the reflection was gone, I couldn't see down in the water it was too cloudy, but fishing the pole I could use any coloured float, YES even yellow tipped. Definately cleared vision with these, cant wait to try them when im out on the motorbike, because that gets bad when the road is wet after rain and the sun hits it.
  21. Yeah a lot of the new comercial fisherys would have been stocked with stolen fish when they were starting off. Even if they knew it or not, people were poaching prize carp and transporting them in tanks in the back of a van. Which were then sold to new ponds.
  22. For the mainline for this type of fishing I would use no less than 4lb line, I have used 6lb before it depends how much weight is being cast out. Hooklengths can be any strain under the mainline whatever you are comfortouble with. I would probably use 2lb for stillwater roach, you might need a bit more for the flow of the river.
  23. I didn't realise that there was a problem with eels, hes after keeping any I will have to tell him thats a no no then. When we caught eels, in my early teens, nobady wanted to have anything to do with them, fear off being bitten, perhaps this was the problem.
  24. Well we had a bit of snow errrm more like soft hail in the morning. The match at Orrell didn't happen, so we headed off to Charity Farm again. Slow starting, but single maggot fished off just the match3 section saw some decent roach upto the 1lb mark, and small skimmers.
