    Thornbacks

Personally i would anchor and fish like that. It is certainly easier to land Thornies. Dont forget you are landing a big sail and it would be harder to boat one if you are drifting. Either way you will be successful but it depends really on personal choice.
  2. For all Commercial Noddies. Wind that up, not us serious anglers
  3. Fish the Flood up then go home and Never the Ebb or flood down.
  4. I have had some great results on Suffolk beaches and estuaries with plugs and lures of one kind or another Pm me or email me on benacre2001@yahoo.co.uk and I will tell you where and when to fish for Bass and if you are lucky some Sea Trout
  5. New spin the bottle game for the carp angler swinging parties on the bank
  6. Great session yesterday afternoon caught several tench, big Crucians and Mirror Carp on Sweetcorn fished in the margins. All from my local day ticket mature gravel pit lakes.
  7. Three? cool can you sell them on Ebay?
  8. After quing in my post office for a new licence for 4o minutes today I was given a farting little bit of paper as a recipt. as for the guy in At who said he needed his reminder afore getting a licence from his post office must be winding us up, how can new anglers just starting in fishing get their first licence After quing in my post office for a new licence for 4o minutes today I was given a farting little bit of paper as a recipt. as for the guy in At who said he needed his reminder afore getting a licence from his post office must be winding us up, how can new anglers just starting in fishing get their first licence
  9. Spring Cod are caught here in Suffolk to Mid May
  10. I agree it is all to do with fish competing for food that does it. Nothing to do with rigs but the method is sometimes to blame as the short hooklength does cause more bream to get foul hooked.
  11. Actually I thought they were. Pike are very sensitive Fish and the Gag is an abhorrent part of fishing
  12. I often visit my local QD style shop near my home town as the tackle sold there is much cheaper than my local proper angling shop. I saw a row of Pike Gags there (QD style shop) and asked why they were for sale. the staff member said they were good sellers! WHAT? Is it not time these gags were banned from tackle shops and QD style shops?

  14. You could knock some nails into the concrete and attach the Yak to the wall like Hoss riders did in the past using a tie ring.
  15. There are always anglers who think they know it all but as far as I am concerened I am always learning and happy to learn new tactics form other anglers. My only problem is the "Noddy" and bandwagon jumper, not unlike a twitcher in the birdwatching cycles who acts on other peoples finds. Yes there are some ignorant anglers around but they are still in the minority I am by default a loner but happy to fish with Mr Crame.
  16. I rolled them up and tied them with PVA string as the string disolves the fish lay flat and natural on the bottom. a popped up Flounder would defo look odd LOL
  17. It is not all about catching the biggest. I have just a gooder day catching smaller carp than I do landing giant carp. Well done.
  18. I would increase the hook length and have a small bolt rig.
  19. pulled a few bass out of the sea south of Lowestoft this morning spinning for them by looking for swirls.
  20. Ha I have just been called by my editor to cover a story about the day ticket water as nine anglers were caught without a rod licence on Saturday (I am a freelance photographer and writer) talks about coincidence.
  21. Thread the maggot up the hook like you would a Lug worm. This works well on my local river. I use an 18 Finewire Barbless Mustad seem to be the best.
  22. I have been out of the sea scene for three years and have a lot of catching up to do. I used to fish up your way for Sole and the beaches were always packed. How is the Bass Scene? Colin.
  23. I often see anglers fishing along my local river bank in the close season and when I ring for an EA baliff they are 130 miles away! and cannot attend. I have seen some horrors at my local day ticket water where fish were caught and dropped onto gravel from standing. These commercials do seem to attract the noddy anglers and scum, when I spoke with the owner he said "as long as I get their day ticket money I ant worried about the fish welfare" why dont the EA give anglers the powers to deal with these idiots or perhaps a name and shame list of commercials that attract scum and Noddies where the owners only care about the money?
  24. During February I met with several bored looking Pike anglers on one of the Broads in my locale and they seemed to either be in the wrong place or not really catching anything. I noticed the Cormorants were feeding on Flounders so a quick shuffty to Crame s bait beds I came back with some Ragworm and fished for flounders from the bank. when I had six or seven I knocked it on the head and fished it as a deadbait on the bottom. Got six Pike to 10lb on the flounders, so have now moved to the estuary to stock up on some more flounders for next season. These Esox's were all caught from the bank. Bugger sitting on a boat all day. Colin.
