  4. Google the model online Dave. Most of the marketing descriptions give the quivertip ratings and then work out which is which by the stiffness.
  5. Hi Jeff, An official complaint has gone in already and the project temporarily suspended ( by Dave's own choice ) until the matter is resolved. It was not our ideal choice to 'go public ' but the way things were evolving we were left with little option if the project was to continue. Most of the problems seemed to originate from one individual in particular, with this person's staff complying with their master's wishes ( whether willingly or through peer pressure ) Ours is not the only group in the park who have experienced this 'obstruction' over the years and we are currently compiling statements from them regarding this individuals's actions. I really am at a loss to understand the mindset of such people. Surely the success of any project in the park serves only to reflect positively on the management of the same ? If they receive credit for the work of volunteer bodies then so be it ! I really don't give a monkey's about who gets the acolades as long as we achieve our aim to get more people into the outdoors ( Although so far the project has dealt mainly with getting kids started fishing, our long term goal was to extend this to the elderly and disabled, in fact anyone ! The bigger picture would encompass outdoor nature walks, cycling, birdwatching, etc ). It is not as if we were a major drain on the resorces of the park. All we asked for was the loan of tools ( until we received funding to obtain our own ) and the boat ( which aside from us, never appeared to be used, and was transfered to and from the lake by volunteer's vehicles ). Our efforts hardly impacted the workload on the park staff ! Hopefully the independant enquiry will result favourably for the project and we can leave the politics to the politicians and enjoy what we really find worthwhile !

  7. I work on this project with Dave and you would think that they would be glad that somebody was promoting the incentives that they should be pioneering anyway ! The truth is that they seem to resent the projects efforts, perhaps because it just exposes their own inadequecies and lethargy. I hope that the investigation is not just lip service and ultimately serves to get certain individuals to wind their necks in and provide the minimal cooperation to allow the project to grow. Once again the petty politics and jealousies serve to deprive the kids of a worthwhile and healthy interest.
  8. Not much carp fishing in Camden Town, though. Don't know about that. Known a few to wiggle a worm on the nearby Hampstead Heath lakes where is is reputed that George Michael is a baliff !
  9. If you don't mind going down to 11ft ( if distance isn't a necessity ) the TFG River and Stream rods are well worth a look at if you can find one around. Twin tip with a 1.2 oz solid tip ( with screw tip ring should you wish to revive the dark art of swingtipping ) and a 2oz quiver tip. Lovely Chub and perch rods.
  10. Shimano 4010 baitrunner in excellent condition and comes with four spools ( 2 x graphite, 2 x metal lipped ). £45 posted or £40 collected in the London area.
  11. Ah but there's more Okumas that go wrong than Shimanos ( especially with disengagement on their baitrunner models ) . Nothing wrong with Okuma reels, great value for money and I own several but where baitrunners are concerned Shmano rule supreme. Great little workhorses that go on and on with a little TLC. For a basic bombproof alarm go for a second hand Garner TLB, tough as a cheap steak !
  12. It was probably a very old episode. The 'inline' rods have already been and gone. Daiwa did some and Fox did a 9ft inline stalker rod but I don't think they proved too popular, although a nice idea ! Think some companies still do them but mainly for sea boat fishing
  13. Sounds fun Andy, might just give it a go. Did you use the bread from a proper loaf or slices from one of the plastic cheapo loaves ?
  14. I know a few Barbel that might disagree with you there
  15. Andy, you could make them by using liquidised bread inside Armamesh. Boiling bread will leave you with a sloppy mess !
  16. Well done, nice to see life returning to it after the pollution problems and resultant fish kills. Please get yourself an unhooking mat though.
  17. If smaller carp are on the agenda why not try one of the 11ft pellet waggler rods on the market ? I think Garbolino do a couple around the £30 mark.
  18. Have seen guys hair rig a large pellet band and using one of those band stretching thingys, stretch it over the mussel.
  19. YAC 3-piece Stalker, built on a Harrison Baby Ballista blank, 9ft, 3lb test, carbon grey, C2 Stainless version with line clip and snag bar, abbreviated duplon handle. New and unused-£105 posted
