  1. Just a bit of advice, if you are using fatballs it's best to get a proper feeder for them and to remove the green netting bag. There have been cases where birds feet have become entangled in the netting leading to injury or death.
  2. Thanks for the info chaps, I'll do some ringing around
  3. The title says it all! I have to take two 15 year olds piking at the end of next week, I've not pike fished for a few years and am looking for some suitable waters. The waters can be in either East or West Sussex and the size of the fish is immaterial, I'd rather they were kept occupied with jacks all day than get bored waiting for a run. So chaps any ideas? Thanks
  4. I'd like two places if there are any left. Thanks Graeme
  5. I always feel the same at some of the waters I fish, often there are dog ends everywhere. I know a guy who takes an old jam jar with him and places his dog ends in the jar to take home and dispose of properly.
  6. I'll second Avon Skin So Soft! You want the dry skin oil in the light green/blue bottle works better than any of the other repellants I've tried
  7. I'd suggest Tropicana in Pier Rd Littlehampton, they're certainly one of the best stocked in the area and offer some really good deals on rods and reels. They're the local Penn stockist so often have some real bargains on their equipment. Just had a look at your website Leonie , great site with some really good photo's (by the way the lime green and pinky/purple coloured creature is a snakelocks anemone, there are quite a few along the Worthing - Littlehampton coastline). If you're interested in the the flora and fauna of West Sussex a good site is http://www.glaucus.org.uk/Adur2007.html
  8. Seph, With the dodgy christmas postal service is it worth confirming which payments you have received? Can you guess the Royal Mail aren't in my good books at the moment! Graeme.
  9. This is a good site for any flora or fauna you need identifying, there are some real experts in the forums. http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/
  10. "You're not singing any more!!"
  11. An idiot who managed his side to winning the Premiership unbeaten!! Can't see anyone else achieving this.
  12. Yep, I've caught and watched being caught bass on poppers from several Sussex beach marks. If you find a beach where the mackeral chase bait on the surface then you can take bass on poppers, I've seen quite small school bass hit large poppers.
  13. I personally would like to see details of the scheme from the EA on which this very brief report was written. I can't help feeling it's a case of a journalist picking out a very small part from the scheme and then writing the report. I know as far back as 2001 British Waterways produced a report, showing asians were less likely to visit waterways than black or whites and asian females less likely than asian males. It has been clearly identified that asians are least likely to participate in inclusive sports and hobbies. This has been highlighted in football, how many british asians play in the premiership? In fact many teams including West Ham and Arsenal now run schemes to encourage young British asians into the sport. I think it's safe to say that research has shown that such schemes are necessary to break down pre-conceptions and bigotry that exists in some elements of our sport.
  14. Just thought I'd bump this!!
  15. N4lly Robinson Crusoe that summer holiday favourite, unless of course they were showing the fantastic 'The Flashing Blade'. http://www.thechestnut.com/flashing-blade/...ashingblade.wav How about 'Champion the Wonder Horse'
  16. Thanks chaps, looks like the Bass fishing is sorted (Assuming I can tear myself away from the Bass Pro shop ) Staying in a Villa at Sunrise Lakes in Orlando, going with my Brother and his family but have booked a seperate car to do my own thing! (Have booked for a couple of days at Universal with them just to be sociable ) n4lly, saltwater wise I was thinking maybe something like redfish or speckled trout, preferably on the lure or fly but would consider fishing bait. Not really thinking of offshore fishing, would prefer shallow water with maybe some sight fishing. Although, I'm open to most suggestions. (Wouldn't want to spend more than about $400 on a guide though) Thanks again Graeme.
  17. Off to florida next September and hoping to get a chance for some fishing. Will be staying in Olando but willing to travel up to the spacecoast or across to Tampa/Clearwater. Really wanted to fish with a guide and have found loads on the net, but wondered if any posters had any personal recommendations for guides that you've fished with? Thanks Graeme
  18. Off to sunny Florida next September and hope to try Bass fishing (Hurricanes permitting ) and I'm looking for a guide. I've found dozens on web but wondered if anybody on here could personally recommend a guide that they've fished with? Will be staying in Orlando but have a car so willing to travel. Thanks Graeme
  19. Hoppy That is a magnificant fish and one that I would be extremely pleased to catch I think also pleasing is the fact it's being nicely supported in the picture and held level with ground. (I'm never sure whether holding a large pike with its head up even if it supported by the other hand is a good idea?) Graeme
  20. Seph Can you add me to the list please. Will post cheque ASAP. Thanks Graeme
  21. Gerry I'd be up for it if there's a place available. Cheers Graeme
  22. Hello Damo Yeh, plenty of sticks this year, almost plague proportions (to be honest sometimes they were a nuisance, a fun nuisance but a nuisance!) Very nice fish by the way, knew it would have gone back. I understand there's been a few good fish on the pier this Summer that haven't made it back  No mullet this year, didn't really get round to fishing for them, you know so much fishing so little time It's not a bad forum, I don't post much(40 posts in 3 years!)but I like to lurk and see what's happening. Heard from the Ginger Horror lately? How's the men behaving badly living arrangements going? Graeme
  23. Hello Damo That would have been a nice fish on the fly or ultra-light spinning gear Bet you know who I am now!!! Graeme.
  24. Ollie Heard it from a local, he's such a cynical old bugger you can normally believe him! [ 16. October 2005, 05:50 PM: Message edited by: Graeme B ]
  25. I understand through the grapevine that a fish of between 7 and 8 lb (so make that 4lbish ) was taken off the pier at Worthing week before last. I have a stoll along the front at the weekend and see if the local boys are taking them in the nets.
