  1. Very sad, all 5 Including the pilot didn't make it. Have to say I've Never fancied a helicopter ride - one is at the mercy of the engine with no wings as a backup to glide!! at least having some chance of survival on hitting the ground.
  2. Fantastic post & pictures Andrew, thanks for sharing.
  3. Never mind the 40 billion£+ bill for leaving!! How about - we've paid in enough over the years - See Ya'. We were doing fine on our own prior to Edward Heath. (that's Ted, or even Teddy to his more intimate friends!!!!!)
  4. 100% agree there chesters - Just don't go on any allotment or Yorkshire Terrier forums with that!!
  5. Yes chesters, but only if you have an allotment - when there's a hosepipe ban in the summer, the license allows you to use it during the ban. Can get one from the Post Office according to a past allotment owning/Leasing acquaintance of mine. I don't think one can own an allotment?? They are largely Council run.
  6. Please educate me cory in things Scottish!! My English boss has a Scottish wife & when he first met her said -"I've a Bridie in ma' Breeks" (which roughly translated means I have a Pastie in my Trousers??) Guessing this was some kind of Cheesy Chat up line?? (Have I asked you about this one before??) PS, Glad you enjoyed the Jaffa cakes.
  7. I'm pretty sure this has been posted on here before, but Animated fishing knots shows step by step AND at your own pace how to tie just about every knot you'll ever need. Even tells the purpose of each one in the text box by hovering over each one. Click on the knot you want to tie & the fun begins........... https://www.animatedknots.com/indexfishing.php
  8. Could maybe just get a Yorkie added on to the Hosepipe Licence ??
  9. Hi Tigger, I've found that Quick Change Beads below the bomb/feeder make things much easier than years ago. The integral plastic hook to attach the hook link rather than loop to loop. There's Loads of makes, sizes.& colours - Black,Green, Brown etc. They all attach same. https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwjEqufE6aLeAhVtk-0KHSvAC6gYABAJGgJkZw&ohost=www.google.co.uk&cid=CAESEeD28t90Fdivltj11tvEyYjd&sig=AOD64_1ntz_DC_2uJh1vEY8WJC_82O55hw&ctype=5&q=&ved=0ahUKEwiN6-LE6aLeAhXEfMAKHWnMBnQQ9aACCDg&adurl=
  10. They wouldn't have to take a re-test if they then bought a different dog, having produced the first certificate. Dog ownership is a huge commitment to do it right & can be Lethal in the wrong Hands!!
  11. Maybe then, before a new owner is allowed to buy a dog, they should have to pass some kind of test. Made to attend a few training classes at an approved dog training school (with a trainers dog) & earn a certified level of achievement before being allowed a dog of their own. OK, so this doesn't do much about the existing owners, but over the next ten years or so (Dogs don't live forever) would show who the real dog lovers are. Could also bring back the DOG LICENSE (having passed the test) & owners have to carry it with them - Like our E.A. License!!
  12. Probably because of the cost?? Blood is relatively cheap (compared to organs) & Blood donors are very many & so cheaper not to have to test blood for BSE therefore excluding risky blood donors is more cost effective. Organs for transplant however are worth more investment re testing as suitability for the recipient is much more bespoke!!

    Ebola

OK John - I've just PM'd you with same in case you missed this, so please Ignore that. Martin.

    Ebola

Hi John, did you know you can have it done at any pharmacy now? No appointment required - just go in & ask, they all have a little private room where the Qualified person gives you the Jab. I've done that for the last 3 times (chemist then Emails your Surgery tell them you've had it done with them) Your Surgery. will then know they can give the one reserved for you to someone else, so it won't be wasted!! It's FREE at the chemist just same. That way you'll be protected earlier as it takes about 2-3 weeks to kick in!!. I'm only nearly 62 so don't need the special 65 & over jab.

    Ebola

Just glad I had my Flu jab last Friday. Nearly said FREE as I don't pay these days being of age & other med's, but paid in enough over the years like everyone else via N.I.
  16. Q) Where's the best place to Weigh a Pie?? A) Somewhere over a Rainbow
  17. I've seen owners with less Brains than these dogs!! - Thick as **** & on the same bus as me.
  18. Raising the standards bar!! Have you actually upgraded to a centrepin?? - the true River fisherman's reel!! (I've lit the blue touch paper - now standing back)
  19. I had some quills which had a loop made from very "Thick" mono, whipped on with nylon thread. Wire is as good though. (maybe single strand copper electrical) Leave the wire loop round but lightly flatten the prongs to be whipped.
  20. Yes mate, absolutely the best position for the pin re balance & casting. Otherwise it's like driving a crane.
  21. Centrepins......... MMmmmmmmmmmmmmm Luverly . With the reel positioned just how I like it - "Right Up The Butt". (The Rod Butt of course, just so there's no Ambiguity) Ooooo Matron, stop messin' about!!
  22. Phone, you may be surprised at how well a Black tipped float shows up in the water, Bright, Fluorescent Red/Orange can dazzle in bright sunlight & after a few hours glaring at these, one can end up seeing double AND can end up with quite a headache. I have quite a few Black tipped floats, which show up even better in overcast/cloudy conditions. Use a waterproof/water resistant black felt tip pen if you don't want to commit to paint. You should also try a rubber - Top & Bottom (stick float style) & shotting the line "Shirt Button" style, which is a good way to start with. (equally spaced down the line) Also, rather than using a swivel for your hooklength, attach it "Loop to Loop". (a simple double overhand loop on the Main line & Hooklength) Like this (The demo' is using very thick line so it shows well for the vid' - it actually lays very flat in reality!!!) Just push the loops together to undo.
  23. All my Baseball caps only have a peak at the Front!!
  24. The Gripper stops are almost weightless rubber!! Not brass.
  25. There's loads everywhere, but here's just one for example!! Martin, Where's the gripper stop you use? Phone https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwjogN6m4IneAhWHv-0KHY7nCG0YABAJGgJkZw&ohost=www.google.co.uk&cid=CAASEuRoysTY1U5GIsI-mw4vtQrs4Q&sig=AOD64_2JtqwFgutwEQ5LaqOCgc_tuzpxeA&ctype=5&q=&ved=0ahUKEwj0_Nmm4IneAhUJBsAKHW1aC1kQ9aACCDU&adurl= I actually buy mine from my local tackle shop.
