more of a puddle man then chesters?
-
get some pellet in a bait tub cover with boiling water (add a little at a time) kneed into a paste once soft enough, or goto the tackle shop buy some ground pellet and mix with egg
-
lol thanks newt
-
for bait have alook around the edge of the water look for natural baits like berrys, etc give them a try, if theres been no pressure from anglers they proberbly havent seen a pellet or anything like that so keep it natural as for ground bait id use crumb and chopped worms, ,nothing else

no not tidal due to the big green sluice gate by the quay there, the place i directed you to the free fishing stretch as well. if you go further up the other way near the campsite you can get the very rare chub there also a few trout nothing much up that end though. another place i use to fish was the river breed but i dont know how thats doing now, not been there for ages [ 06. Wingham Fish-In 12th/13th June - bookings now being taken
rickster replied to Steve Burke's topic in Coarse Fishing
i know for next year im going to book the first 3 weekends of in june. Ill be there next year ready and waiting for them huge tench and perch. -
it certainly does, if you go down tillingham ave. turn left at bottom over the gate and look straight ahead you will see 2 willows, fish there using a hamp based groundbait (hemop and crumb) is what i use, fish to the bottom with maggot and you soon be pulling them out, word of warning tho watch the bank sides they are very weak and the river is stupidly deep, about 9ft in the middle. for the perch head same way except go over the gate and look to the right you will see a concrete slab fish there along the weed ive had perch to 3 1/2lb from there

im going for some of the huge.......perch in the tillingham, ill let you all know how i get on, and if budgie pops down ill even put the kettle on!!

i wont be there this year steve i got to much work on. But i cant understand why only 9 people have signed up? This placeis a little ok big bit of magical fishing. Oh by the way i went last year and took loads of baits and caught erm nothing but then i was " green" to this water. pellets did not even get a sniff. -
well its nearly June 16th so how many of us are going to be on a river for the first day? Myself im prob going down near budgie to the river tillingham in Rye,

The only thing barbed hooks have over barbless is the fact worms stay on them, im sorry im for barbless hooks, its got to be better for the fish havn't you ever hooked yourself with a barbed hook where its entered you further than the barb. The pain you experianced afterwards? well i done it with both and barbless wins my vote everytime
-
With Budgie on this one. when i first read the article i was abit gobsmacked but since thinking about it, its not harming the fish in anyway. Wouldnt want to try it though

i find rear drag better i find on front drag reels i tend to ctach the line with my hand when i need adjust the drag whilst playing a fish
-
i use a paste made of ground trout pellet only, i think its all in how you mix it as to its consitansy. i mix mine with raw egg as it binds real well or if i am finding it hard to catch on a water i use egg and hemp water thats the most devestaing way i know. to keep it on the hook is another problem i had untill i placed a no8 shot on the bend of the hook. quote: The springs that you refer to are Dangerous to the fish and regarding using a piece of TWIG where the HELL has that idea come from. what about boile stops then made from plastic

congrats and may that be the first of many (size dont matter)
-
why not just order them from the states and pay their prices still save a load after postage
-
http://www.browningfishing.com/ there you go
-
well done daiwa, honesty products at near honest prices and what seems a honest after sales service. Many companys just think of the sales service but forget word of mouth sales more than any other form of ads
-
its called a inflated profit margin and welcome to paying carp prices
-
i think its the standard tabby type the long haired ones are better seem to flow through the water better
-
just a quick post, i was wondering if there was any where local to me to go barbel fishing as this is one fish i havent caught for many years. Im in the south east kent area
-
could ask your mods to do it temp to ease y our workload
-
looks like me and peter have the same opinons on this one. one thing does puzzle me that is god posted that silly comparison with a cat and maggot, but in his next post he states he uses live bait now im not anti live baiting as i belive this is just part of the natural food chain and who are we to interfere with that. but surley using something bred for feeding fish (maggots) is better than putting a couple of trebles thru a roach's back?. I think god needs to read his old posts as he is stating 2 differant opinons here God decide what side of the fence your perched on

a pole gives you better presentation and the ability to get to those hard to reach places, the only thing i have found with pole fishing is the supprising weight of them when you have got all 14 mtrs out there, i find mine gives me back ache but thats proberly down to bad choice of pole on my half, to me you just cant beat the old rod and line method tho as theres nothing like your clutch screeming off with a carp and i like the ability to be able to gain more control over the fish

when i was at oulton i had a good night from the marina, you need to head for the lock in the bottom and then do a left along to the marina there, you need loads of ground bait but well worth it i had many slabs from there
