  1. If you are using a pole, drop the line to 012 -014 (about 4lb) as your elastic cushions your line!
  2. The funny thing is that sometimes you hook one and they go ballistic literally jumping straight out of the water the moment they feel the hook, I have had them jump about 2-3 feet out of the water with no problems!!
  3. I am a pleasure angler and would like to join a club in (or near) Cheltenham. I don't want to walk too far as I am registered disabled. Can anyone help?
  4. I have just heard that GB says that he will not leave until he has sorted the problem the british people have????????? Given that 75% of people want him to leave - is he listening to the people???? I wonder who he IS listening to!!!!
  5. I seem to remember somewhere that GB's own constuents want him out of POLITICS!!! Apparently they would make sure that he would lose his deposit if he tried to get himself elected again!! I can't remember where I heard it but it wouldn't suprise me!
  6. For me - It HAS to be be the Perch! From little pests to 3 or 4lb specimens, the stripey has a place in all waters, whether fishing with maggot, worm or live bait - these denizens of the water are always there!! Whether specimen hunting or bagging up in a match, the Perch is always there to avoid disappointments. the lirttle ones can be a pest in summer - but in the winter.......The BIG Perch comes into its own!!
  7. Cheers Mike - I intend to!! By the way, what's the best bait to use there?
  8. Woo!woo! Next Saturday I am off to Reepham for a week - 8 hours fishing EVERY day! I get up at and start fishing at 5am until 9am, then take Brenda out for lunch - come back, have a siesta and go fishing again from 5pm until 9pm. I CAN'T WAIT!!!! They have hybrid Carp there that have bred with fantails and, with a tail like that, fight like a fish twice their size!!
  9. Rabbit: Trust has nothing to do with it!! There was an earlier posting stating that when you apply for a license (you DO need a license!!) you are told that bears are not just for trophy hunting and that the meat must be used. If a company wants to supply a service to facilitate this, then they would surely provide a service to remove the carcass or the government would withhold licensing for them. Simple really!
  10. Well I think Alan Sugar has just made his first mistake!! I will sit back and watch him single handedly turn Britain from a bankrupt, spied on everywhere with CCTV cameras, country!! Mr Brown has ALWAYS acted on HIS own not Labours - look at how he plundered the pensions AGAINST everyone's advice and every time he visited a third world country (and I'll include China in that!) he pledged OUR money to them until now we have LESS money in the chancellery than they have!! I think if Sugar makes any money, GB will give it away!!
  11. I think they have listened to the blurb for too long!! They keep saying there are NO losers or failures - those words have been forbidden to be used in the context of competition!
  12. I see he is now having to BUY support! Alan sugar is to be made a LORD in order for GB (gone bust) to appoint him as "enterprise tsar"!!
  13. That's interesting - The licence says that game may not be wasted and Both Vagabond and sportsman report on non-wastage of meat Then the companies organising "trophy hunting" must be responsible for the carcass removal - a very lucrative idea! The hunter pays for the head and the meat is sold - they get paid twice!! And I am sure that a check is made on the stock to make sure it is healthy and numerous.
  14. With a lot of the posters here showing a lot of indignation over the video, the question has to be asked: Have you ever watched a "how to" video/DVD on fishing, and would you still have watched it and gone fishing if we didn't return our fish? How many of us have accidently killed a fish and reasoned that it was an accident and left it at that? With the debate still going on about us catching fish and returning them, are we overreacting because of Pretty Extreme Territorial Ants?
