Thanks to Steve, Peggy, Terry and Glynn for making the fish-in at Wingham possible. I'd like to report a huge Bream and/ or Tench but it was just eels for me! I was on peg 46 which was a good chuck towards to the deep water infront of the Island. I had a few line bites then I lost a fish which I assume was a pike on Saturday afternoon (hope was a pike). All was quite then til I made the misstake of trying to cook myself some dinner half way through I had a screaming take 24 inch of the drop on the bobbins and the baitrunner going giving line at a rate of knots. I really thought my luck had changed until I felt that fight that only an Eel can give so stinking and covered in Eel slime I finished my dinner! I had another 3 Eels through the night before giving up with maggots or worms on the hook putting sweetcorn on both rods hoping for something other than an Eel. I was surprised how cold it got overnight I was really glad I put my thermals on, topped off with a wooley hat! Things looked up again on Sunday morning as I saw some fish roll in my swim which raised my confindence but nothing came of it the bobbins remained motionless. Ive nothing more to report as nothing happened over night on Sunday other than me getting a good nights sleep no bites at all even with a worm on one rod. Thanks again for everyone that makes the Wingham fish-in possible - maybe I will get a Tench or a Bream next year

Weather is going to be awful Most weekends I look at the weather and decide whether to go Fishing, windsurfing, mountain biking or work at the last minute The trouble happens when ever I pre arrange anything the weather always comes out wrong - look at last year 30-40 mph wind not nice for fishing would of been fantastic windsurfing! -
I find after netting a fish more often than not when it comes to unhooking the hook is in the net rather than the fish when fishing with barbless hooks

I still use 1-75 tc rods I mostly only fish small ish waters for carp not expecting anything over 20. Its so much nicer playing a fish if theres a proper bend in the rod

Fitting Elastic On A Pole Advice Please.
badexcuseforanangler replied to fish-on's topic in Coarse Fishing
On some poles(check the max laccy rating) you can just take the top section out of the pole and get a big bush to fit the top of the no.2 and elasticate the 2nd and 3rd sections, very handy for the thicker hollow laccys. It also saves you from butchering the no.1 sections so you can still rig them up with light elastic -
Nice! can't think why they have "New" litter box and pooper scooper! Reminds me of when I was fishing the canal a few months back, was having problems with cyclists getting too close. Halibut pellet paste makes very good fake doggy do do! a couple of lumps on the towpath kept the cyclists from getting too close! Although one dog owner did seem a bit discusted when her dog ate some of it!

Can you add me to the list too please

I'd like to see more checks but without more staff its not going to happen. I think there should be on the spot fines to stop all the time taken up taking people to court

A) How long have you been fishing after the age of 12? 21 years, I feel old now been fishing for over 20 years How many days a year do you fish? 20 -30 C) How many times have you had your Rod Licence checked (by official WA/NRA/EA baillif as opposed to club baillif or fishery owner)? 4 once in last ten years
