  1. Wish this was posted before Easter would just parted with £300 at D&A for 2 pairs of glasses
  2. I've fished the canal around Tring a few times I agree with Davidt the Alesbury arm can be abit patchy but if you get in the right swim on the right day its great. Ive had tench to 7lb and Carp nearing 20lb. One downer is make sure you leave nothing visable in your car heard quite a few cases of cars being busted into when parking on the arm Some good bits on the wendover arm is you don't mind a walk. Make the most of the low traffic they are opening up the disused part of the wendover arm all the tourist will be motoring up it to have a look.
  3. This is a photo (hope its not too big) of the smallest pond that I fished its about 10 metres by 15 metres . I caught 133 carp out of the pond not all by rod and line though, the pond was being filled in so caught as many possible before the water was pumped out then went in with the row boat and landing net when there wasn't enough water for the carp to hide All the carp went into the lake behind
  4. Maybe you can invoice the bank for the advertising Elton
  5. I think most of the navigation is dayticket Lee Anglers Consortium
  6. Too cold to fish today too cold to go windsurfing too but went to the lake (220 acres) anyway its got a couple of good cycle paths nearby. When I arrived part of the lake was frozen but as the wind got up the ice was all pushed up against the shore moving rocks some old fishing platforms causing right destrution but nothing that couldn't be fixed it was an amazing sight once in a life time. Then the bad bit we have a weather station on a platform in the middle of the lake well I should say HAD it wasn't there anymore the ice had ripped it out the lake bed and turned it over. Its hard to belive the power of the ice the platform has been there for 10 years taken batterings from galeforce winds, crashed into by windsurfers and stoodfirm but alas its now at the bottem of the lake along with £300's worth of weather station
  7. All the rivers have a close season but still waters and most canals can stay open subject to the owners/ controling club
  8. The only people I can see a boycott hurting are the tackle shop and fishery owners. Everyone buying a rod licence two weeks late isn't going to make a blind bit of notice to the goverment but the lost revenue in bait, tackle and ticket sales will hurt the other areas of the industry
  9. I'm not a boat owner but been looking on the net and found this http://www.ybw.com/mbm/redalert/ Looks like its red diesel for the time being not sure of the exact figue but its taxed a lot less that the stuff we can use on the road
  10. If I get the chance leave early and go fishing the following morning
  11. I think argos are going to see a rush on these, been out and bought one today looks like a good bit of kit to me
  12. Does anyone know how they tag the fish? Had a look at the site and it doesn't mention how they are tagged
  13. If you renew with 6 months left they go onto your new passport
  14. Sounds like fun, never caught proper catfish I caught one in a net in local river about 20 years ago but thats it
  15. I only get 20 days holiday a year I get bank holiday on top of that but it don't go very far I managed 5 weeks off sick last year which topped the holidays up but fracturing my arm too high a price to pay for the extra
