  1. People that don't smoke and expect the rest of the world to give it up just to keep them happy. I'M getting outta here.
  2. Stevo, have sent you a PM.
  3. LOL Wayne...I have a few XXXX DVD's, but the beers will have to come from the pub just across the road.
  4. Debbage, i think, can only get the 110AH at that price. I have two of these cheap batterie on my boat, one is the main engine battery and electric anchor winch. The other feeds everything else, FRIDGE- TV - DVD - NAV LIGHTS - EBERSPACHER - PLOTTER - FISH FINDER - CABIN LIGHTS - SHOWER - BEILGE PUMPS X3 - WATER PUMP etc etc. This battery takes a real hammering at times, but it stands up to the punishment ok. Not bad for a £50 battery. If you come down this way, let me know and i will take you aboard for a cuppa. maybe steve might want to tag along with you., he keeps saying he will call in one-day. Deano and Tel came down the other week, don't get lost like they did..LOL.
  5. Sharkbyte, check out Debbage marina, they get hold of 110ah marine batteries for less then £50.00. E-mail : debyacht@onet.co.uk Phone : 01473 601169 and 07774 694226. As others have said, size of battery won't effect your charging rate.

    Air Rage

In view of safety, I don't think drinking should be allowed on aircraft or boats/ships. Everyone could be faced with emergency procedures, therefore should be responsible to themselves and others and stay sober.

    Marine Antifoul

I go along with Sharkbyte on this, and also put it down to damp. Quite common when spraying vehicles in the wrong temperature. I wonder, did you let the hull dry out before applying the antifoul? it's normal to scrap off the old antifoul, then let the boat stand for a few weeks this time of the year. The new antifoul applied just before going back into the water.
  8. I don't know how true this is. I was told that the real reason people are being forced to stop smoking is, that in a year or two, smokers will be classed as having a health problem on the same level as alcoholics and drug addicts. This will enable smokers to register as unfit for work due to ill health, and they they will be able to claim DLA benefits. As i said, i don't know how true this is.
  9. Can't give up......TRY THESE. Cigastop Smoke Free Cigarettes Ref: HRP-CSFC Savour the flavour of these smoke free cigarettes. They contain natural coffee flavour to "smoke" where smoking is not permitted - offices, aeroplanes etc. Cigastop look and feel like regular cigarettes and are nicotine free. No Smoke - No Tar - No Nicotine - No Problem Price: £6.87
  10. Backcasting is my favorite style for hitting max distances. Three hook rigs 8oz lead at long range against the wind, no problem. You need the right rod, 14ft min such as a Zziplex Quattra, or B14 will do a good job, also a few others. Backcasting can generate immense power into a rod, so you need one that can take the power. Other things you need is 80lb leader line, less then that and it can snap. Unlike the Pendulum where 50-60lb will do as this style require less power. The ideal chap to get in touch with is "Dave Vicary" he is the champ at this style. You can find him at Anglia Sportscast, Bircham. Also he will give you all the lessons you need and rods suitable for the job to try. Another top Backcaster is Deano, AKA..Gut Cast, or Terry, both always willing to share good advice or give demo's/Lessons. Backcasting can be dangerous if your not familiar with the style, also can inflict body problems such as Hernia or ruptured guts, most casters wear a support belt, so take it easy if you try it.

    Smoke free

Thanks for the feedback. I already detest the smell of fags, can't bare to be in a Smokey pub room, but then i don't like the smell of beer either, or some of the perfumes that women wear. I'm going to try this giving up smoking challenge just to see IF there are any benefits. It should be quite easy as i don't actually inhale the smoke, i never have, so i don't really know why i do it, it's a long term habit i guess.

    Smoke free

I'm a hardened smoker, have been for 50 years, 60+ per day no problem. As far as i know, i have done no harm to my health, still going strong at 60, quite fit, free from ill health apart from a fractured spine, that does it's best to see that i hang on to my pain threshold, Agony at times. HOWEVER, i like the thought of giving up the fags, don't know why, especially when i see dumb headed motorist driving down the roads with a mobile phone stuck in their lug holes. I think to myself, what's the point in trying to extend my life by a few days, when some tosser like them can just as easily write me off tomorrow. At least if fags kill me, that's my choice. Anyway i decided to give it a crack and try to stop smoking, so been and got a prescription from Dr Who, for a box of Zyban, 150mg tablets, start the course once i have stopped taking the pain killers for my back injuries. Now i have two problems about to start..One the increase of pain and agony in the back, and the other the torture of giving up smoking. I still don't see what I'm going to gain from all the self inflicted torture, maybe a few quid, but I'm not short of money so that won't make any difference. Maybe i will live a day or two longer, who knows. Anyway, gonna give it a go, at least i won't have to keep emptying the ashtray in my car every week. The wife ain't very happy about it, she knows i can't control my temper at the best of times, I got a very short fuse when something goes wrong. NO D.I.Y for me until this is over, hammers/screwdrivers/tools etc would all be out in orbit, and god help anyone that crosses my path in the next few weeks...LOL Would like help from all you guys, especially any good reasons as to why giving up is a good idea. Getting all edgy now, so gotta have a few fags.
  13. 7 RODS, OK. There are three anglers on this boat, that's two rods each. The other rod i'm guessing, knowing cliff, has been set up as a tester for extra large baits or some other experiment. Regardless of this, Cliff and his mates NEVER keep more then a couple of fish each. Well done Cliff, another good report.

    Boat Owners

Elton. Still got mine, Carol and myself would be lost without it. You should have bought the one i told you about, you would be out there fishing now.
  15. Your spinning the ball. You need to follow your swing straight through for a straight ball. Do not twist your wrist. A slight twist of the wrist to the right, will spin to the right, a slight twist to the left, spins to the left. Your best scores will come from a ball that strikes the side of the centre pin. Keep the ball polished. Good luck.
  16. Lot's of people i know burn essence sticks. One young couple up the road always has a house full of smoke, and it smells great, Oh and they have two babies. Doctors, nurses, midwives etc have never remarked on it, or complained, so i guess this smoke must be harmful. Is it a different kind of smoke ? Sounds like the British rail with their remarks of a different kind of snow.
  17. Have a friend that ran a hairdressers. While his customers were going through the mill, they could listen to music being played in the background. He was told he needed an entertainment license to do this. He refused to pay for one. Last i heard, he was issued a court summons.
  18. I don't see there being a problem here. If they are going to take note of all the smokers addresses, then simply send smokers to do the visits. That could increase new jobs..."Smokers wanted for home visits" Wow, they could even offer a cigarette allowance + Company car with duel ashtrays...LOL
  19. Just about sums it up, but what about the SMOKERS table, you left out the smokers, unfair...unfair.
  20. HaHaHa, good to see that there's still some great laughter around. I could do with one of those young chicks myself...Dear Santa
  21. Oi Oi, now your talking real music. Songs that you could listen to and understand. Proper bands, no electronic junk. Billy Cotton, what a guy. Grace Field, and how about Pearl Carr & Teddy Johnson. All great old entertainers. Perry Como, Glen Miller, Diana Keaton, Alma Cogan, Andrew Sisters, Johnny Ray +++++++++ Then the modern days came along with Skiffle..WOW. Radio's...TV, what the heck were they?? We had Chrystal sets, powered by accumulators, that's if you were lucky.

    Big Cod!

Very true Cliff, it could have a serious side, but we can't really worry too much about it, can we. I know what your saying, but this boating game does have it's risky moment's, a friend of mine fell off his boat in the Stour, not that long ago was it Cliff..LOL.
  23. I have played around with gold quite a lot. It will depend on how deep the scratches are, it can be done with various paste, cut and then polished. Personally though, i think you would be better off getting a goldsmith to shine it up for you. Doubt if you will get it done this side of Xmas though.
