  1. Sometimes your comments make me want to commit Forum hara-kiri. Ronnie Lad seems to have found a place to live again and Steve's in reverse, as usual. You so-called men should grow up and see how the system really works. Is this neo-amusing Nazi piece really relevant? Please, God, don't allow Ronnie Boy to put his talons down here. Luckily, none of your stuff will have any bearing on the outcomes. My only worry is that others, even more naive than you two, will!
  2. Good luck, Wurzel. The Peugot 406 is a good workhorse.
  3. This is the normal, blinkered reply of a commercial fisherman. Get yer head outa the sand.
  4. Wurzel, et al ... you are not completely non-compos mentis; but you must have seen 'some signs'. Perhaps I should have told you to watch More4 tonight and see 'End of the Line' over and over!!!! Blue Fins Yellowfins Hake Halibut Atlantic Salmon Herring Sturgeon Nephrops Soles Plaice ... blah, blah ..... Newfoundlanders were 40k unemployed in '92 because of overfishing (doesn't matter by whom!). Senagalese fishermen are swarming to Europe because their 3 mile limit has been invaded by Spaniards and Frenchies. You lot cannot deny the lack of soles and plaice off Suffolk/Essex beaches. Even with your 'friendly' leetle tangles/gillers and trammels, eh? Look, mate, don't ask ME to comment on 'bad press' for industrialised fishing. Keep up to speed, OK? The scrappage fund should apply to all registered fishing boats; get a nice taxi and a proper job. And stop stirring up yer bottom!
  5. Oh booger ... don't encourage him!
  6. Surely that's more a concern for the NFFO, given the present bad press for industrial fishing fleets, their methods and recent figures for fish stocks in the N E Atlantic/N Sea?
  7. Didn't you get consulted? I did, and I proposed Steve Coppolo and Leon Roskilly (with Elton as reserve). I think they kindee 'clamed up' at that point.
  8. I'm sure you're right I'm a revolutionary with Steviecops ... but we're stumped for policies at present???? PS Steve'll thinkle somethin'
  9. When I took kids on the beach to show them how to fish, I had to issue each of them with a whistle and a compass ........ in case of fog! This was July.
  10. For Chesters - Two men are walking their dogs, a Poodle and a German Shepherd. They decide they'd like to go into a bar for a drink. "But we can't bring out dogs into that bar," says the Poodle's human. "Hey, no problem," says the German Shepherd's owner. "Just watch this." He pulls out a pair of sunglasses and walks into the bar. "Hey, no dogs!" yells the bartender. "But this is a seeing eye dog," says the German Shepherd's human. The bartender apologizes and shows them to a chair. So, the poodle owner decides to follow suit, whips out his sunglasses, and walks into the bar. "Hey, no dogs!" yells the bartender. "But this is a seeing eye dog," says the Poodle's human. The bartender objects, "Hey, Poodles can't be seeing eye dogs!" The Poodle owner gasps. "Poodle? They told me they were giving me a German Shepherd!"
  11. B That's not the point. To me it's the pointlessness of debating stuff here in a reasonably informed and sensible manner, whilst decisions are taken by Coastal Policies, M&FA, MGA, officials of SFCs and CFP enforcers (whoever they are?). It makes me laugh and cry at the same time. I'm on the same side as Steviecops and yet we are opposites and not natural allies. It's a pointless saying ... but you've got to be 'in it to win it' and ostriches don't impress me. On the other hand we have the natural inclination to knock anyone who speaks on 'our behalf'. I personally believe in the NEW BODY since I was the one who referred to NFSA as The dead bodies of Buckfastleigh. And I went there for AGMs etc (not impressed). I loved the singer who sang 'The only way is up ...', since we're all in a mess. We've gotta get outa it and involvement, ideas, concerns and debate is the way. Heads in the sand is not.
  12. Chesters; that is why he is an expert. He tunes the reel to his technique and he understands the technique and the reel. Come and see me at Hayling Island; I'm not far away. 7HTs are the 'poodles' of the casting scene.
  13. Dear Gordon or Tony, I'd like to be removed from any political process. We have nothing to do with a food source and spend our hours contemplating the global warning stuff without actually having any effect on it. Could you please excuse us from MCZs, CFPs and other sheite like that. We go to pubs, drive fast cars and big 4x4 thingies and pay our taxes, so why are you harassing us? Oh dear, you're not actually are you? Because we represent a couple of million voters (and their dogs). It's in some 'dorks' imaginational-thingies', innit though? In fact you've caused us less harassment and licensing and 'stuff' than most of the other sectors of society who are ..... regulated, regulated, regulated. The blokes which actually represent us anglers are holograms and should be ignored. Unless, of course they make some sense in the wider issues involved. I know nuffink.

    Best lever drag

Yep, well .... Shimano had a winner with the advent of fine braids and the TLD5; then they cut it off. I've still got mine and it's excellent. I won a Penn Int. 975LD and it hasn't let me down in 8 years or so ('gilling' mostly). Perfect for 12lbs test. PERFICK! The excellent 225LD is probably better matched to a 20/30. You know, I can't understand the infatuation with LDs unless you are in the habit of catching tuna, wahoo and other biggies 'on the troll'. A 525/535GS will probably land you anything you can catch in the UK! But choose the gearing carefully if you are braid and biggies. To be honest, I'd go back to Shimano ... Calcutta or something.
  15. I'm quite keen on Stevie Cops for PM; while I go to Brussels .. call me a Blair, if you must. I'm not Brown, though.
  16. I spent time in East Anglia ..... and I'm sure it happens frequently. I was at peace with 2 smuts and a bream under moonlight tonight ... watching the sheeps coming and going through The Solent. Bruddy lovely ..... no suicides here ... the main problem we have at Hayling is that there are no Police; so we have to keep ourselves in check!
  17. I know losers when I see 'em. I'm orf to Pagham tomorra ........... Sept 29th last year ... Anniversary sorta thingy I'd prefer if I had some wind though.
  18. They eat like sheite! Stop trying to be clever. Stick with what you know best!
  19. You really need to fish Hayling at night .... good tides from Tuesday onwards.
  20. glennk, not Peter Kay You lucky little booger. When I go bait digging I can catch a dozen under 30cm bass in the Nursery Area on the fly fer fun in the shallows. I caught loadsa sizeable 5lbs - 13-12 lbs from my open beach in the 90's ... now I've given up proper bass fishing from the shore. The mature fish have been obliterated .... I'm sorry, that should read - the climate is changing and this is moving all the bass from the Med northwards. Yeh.
  21. I'm afraid most of the above are 'trolls' ... the moderators should have removed them hours ago. I can help, but what is 14' in proper money (m)?
  22. But I still dig my own bait ..... Long tips won't fit, though! She doesn't complain too much.
  23. Cap/hat thingy ..... yep, that be it. Which is why I hate crossing swords with Stevie Copps. He's actually a proper person who cares. Strangely, it's at that point when we lose each other. Anyway, you can have yer hat back! A main man, if I can say so.
