Aye - there's some biggies there - I've had them over a pound with 14/15oz fish most winters...
-
Duh! Of course !!
-
Blimey!! That pic don't half look like the Lambourn pre 2001 thought it might have been taken the day your brolly took off and went through mine!
Welcome to the little backwater of the internet otherwise known as Anglersnets blogs!

Photobucket isn't working at all for me - can't get beyond my new 'home' page. None of the buttons work - can't upload, can't change to old Photobucket - can't even see my own gallery - still not working this morning - pants. Paul broke the tip of his Greys pulling for a break - 2nd time he's done it on that rod so he was trying to be careful - had put the rod down and was pulling by hand but still some home managed to snap the tip off!
-
Lets hopes so - some chub would be nice - as too would some ranunculus, place still looks a little barren! And while we're at it a barbel or two would be welcome!
-
How many times do I have to say it - you should be using corn in that swim - corn I tell ya!!!!!
-
Ah - Paul was right!
-
Chris - can you settle an argument - your chub swim above - should you really only fish it with corn whilst in possesion of a Kelly Kettle or is it somewhere else (I don't want to know where!!!)
-
Ah THAT railway line - did you/can you get to the pillbox on that bank???
-
John - I started fishing with NO loose feed (or groundbait) at all - and had the 3lber within ¾hr of starting - had a few crucians roll as well so fed a few 3mm pellet - very sparingly and in just one very small area (margins).
-
Where were you parked - Chris?
-
Aye Chris - nice fishing - that swim used to often give me 8+ species in a day. Looking through my diaries - my best ever was 12!!
18 Sep 2004 - I caught, gudgeon, dace, roach, chub, perch, pike(2 on trotted mag!),bream, barbel, grayling, trout, salmon parr (the EA had lobbed 30000 into the Lambourn earlier in the year) and minnows!!! Great place for a species race!!!
-
Yes - a nice end to the summer - though hopefully we'll get a warm September in order for at least a couple more cracks at the crucians - before the real fun begins!

Bit of a slow burner and still a bit of a backwater on AN. Twas blogging here for 18months before I even had my first comment!
-
Very good, Chris - even better than the 1st one!

I had 2 anglers upstream of me and 2 down - didn't hear or see a thing caught!
-
Cheers - an infuriating species - so lovely to get one at last!

Wayhay - well done - only just got your text (no mobile signal at chez Plumb) was the chub from the trees or further up? Tis nice to see the river fill at this time of year - now the only thing missing is the rununculus - used to be luxuriant growth at H.
-
It is Chris - I've had the odd 5lber from there - usually from that swim too! Good luck if you go Friday - you deserve one. BTW I fished 'your' banker swim for the first time - never trotted it before as I assumed it was in the out of bounds area - but clearly isn't. Had a couple of clonking dace from it - and both bigger troot.. It's a lovely swim in current conditions.
-
Some got in during the floods of 2007 but some - like the mirror I had today have clearly come from Willows more recently.
-
I'd hazard a guess at BellWood... Always used to be a lot of (rarely fished for) decent perch in there...
-
Actually John my first 3-14 wasn't from that spot (though not far off ) I equalled it this year (13th Oct) on the day when I had 5 X 3lbers - they were all caught there!
-
Hi Mike - small world eh? Yes my Worget lady was err a lady - must be a mug fish - or the only one in the stretch that was hungry!
