  6. thought you said brothel for a min lol
  7. just looking through the net and theres carp over 20lb just found this to TACTICS Mainly a feeder water for the bream, tench, and skimmers. though pole works well for roach bags of 20lbs or more. the main method for the bigger bream and tench and also the carp is the method feeder with a hair rigged pellot. fish meal groundbait works best. 8. 25-acre complex of military water defenses. Almost totally free of surface weed and fed by a tributary of the River Rhymney, the several lakes and moats on different levels can be of varying colour dependent on rainfall - either state is suitable for successful fishing. Most sections of bank are convenient though the large section to the north and the smaller moat on the east are perhaps the best, being away from the road and nicely grassed. The west bank adjoining the town centre provides excellent catches too, but a popular footpath for tourists runs most of the way alongside. Recent dredging to an average of just over 8ft should go a long way to further improving the rapidly increasing head of carp and tench without adversely affecting the main quarry at this venue - pike and bream. Large pike can turn up just about anywhere and reach 27lbs with plenty over 14lbs, while both silver and bronze bream up to 4lbs can provide very heavy catches. The castle ruins are a popular tourist “must” and the water is best visited on weekdays during the Summer months, though wintertime usually produces the heaviest bags of quality pike. Roach and perch are plentiful
  9. ive seen a 4lb perch caught on bread and ive caught perch over a lb on sweetcorn but very rarely bout twice a year
  10. quote: Steve, I would say that its the difference between setting out to recapture a particular fish who's habits must now be well known...and accidentally re-capturing a known fish. its habits were so well known its taken 14 months for it to be caught.i cant see peoples point so u saying when a record is caught nobody should fish the water again incase they catch the fish again at a higher weight  and to catch it from a 30 acre lake is some feat if you ask me
  11. oooo dont start another thread on bait boats it will end up all heated lol
  12. there usefull for putting your bait where you,d find it hard to cast to. thats the only reason to use one no point using one if you can cast to it
  13. are you plumbing the depth properly? also id use a 4lb hooklentgh with a size 12 hook. feed little and often in a tight an area as you can. keep at it you will catch
  14. i remember awhile back about a connector that screws on to your bank stick that you can then put your camera on it. anyone know where i can get one from?
  15. quote: strange how a lot of bait boat advocates speak in text talk too, i bet a lot of them own them new fangled mobile phones toonope aint got a mobile lol have nt got a boat either
  16. thats all im saying is dont put people down who want to use 1 as there is no proplem in using 1. and as for people saying you should cast or only use one cos they cant cast is just plain stupid. anyway ive had my say and im not saying anymore cos we could go on and on and nobody will win as every1 has their own opinions.
  17. yes i did read his post but your saying bait boats should nt be used but they do have their advantages.this is wot you said before elton posted quote: I maintain that if you can't cast to a point you shouldn't fish to that point.like with a pole you can fish tight to an island etc but i bet you could,nt cast tight to an island
  18. quote: So who uses bait boats in the main? Carp anglers - so your analogy is slightly flawed, as they certainly do fish close to snags. not flawed at all,a lot people use poles next to lily pads which is alot more dangerous to fish as you are gonna lose alot more fish even getting them tangled up in the lilys than you will with using a rod reel and strong line. btw i pole fish and carp fish and ive seen alot more fish lost on poles and snagged up than people using bait boats.
  19. quote: But are you looking to take 20lb+ carp out on a pole that close to snags? they are not just designed for that they are for getting your hookbait and free offerings where you want them same as a pole and pole cup dos nt mean you have to fish snags now does it?
  20. theres nothing wrong with bait boats just cos u dont cast dos nt mean you should nt use them. you dont cast a pole but alot of people use them!!!
  21. thats just silly do they think their fishing for mackrel or somthing
  22. big fish tend to be wary so they are harder to catch.
  23. arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh . right ive calmed down now lol nice fish btw [ 10. September 2005, 10:36 PM: Message edited by: edd ]
