  2. Hi all. I have a Shimano Exage 2030 boat rod that I take travelling with me. Does anyone know where I can get spare sections for these rods and is the reel seat/join between the butt and the next section a standard fitting ? If so, where can I buy one ? I want to take the original rod travelling with me for boat fishing but I'd also like to get a spare third section so that I can fit a bigger fist rod ring and use if for poper fishing with a fixed spool reel. If the reel seat/join is a standard fitting, I'll also be looking to build a lighter butt section so that it's a bit easier to use for extended periods.
  3. Fair point Andy and I've also ordered some big Manhadden lues and jig heads but I do find the more central weight distribution on pre-moulded swimbaits to be very useful presentation wise - particularlt when fishing the baits slowly and or shallowly. Bob, I totally agree with you about US sites in general and Cabelas/Barlows in partticular and have recently ordered lots of the Storm swimbaits and bulk soft shads from these supliers but big "trout-plugs" tend to be expensive even from US supliers.
  4. These were all taken in India last year.
  5. Just ordered some of the 7" Mann's Swinnin' Fish from here: http://www.sovereignsuperbaits.co.uk/Lures..._jerkbaits.html and some big Wobble Shads From here: http://www.uk-fishing-tackle.co.uk/product...9cc47c137f570b1 In both cases, the prices seem unusually reasonable for UK compamies. Does anyone have any other recomendations for similar monster lures at sensible prices ? BTW. I e-mailed the guy at UK-Fishing tackle and he does do the full range of colours for the big Conrad lures.
  6. Interesting. Looks like just another species that we lucked out on following the ice age along with Ide, Vimba and the rest. BTW, Why is it that the board always seems to refuse to show the name "Kevin Mad_docks" ?
  7. Great fish ! I first heard of them in the mid 80's when Kevin ________s was catching them on the Volga Delta. Now they seem to have spread to and be doing well in much of western Europe including Holland and Sweeden. I'm with Phill, I want them in the Severn !!!!!
  8. Yes I found it funny but it's kinda hard to justify laughing at what amouts to animal crelty though.
  9. Some nasty people lure a poor unsuspecting squirrel along a branch and onto the arm of a clay pigeon launcher - and then set it off along with Mr Tufty.
  10. Do you play songs by that welsh rapper ? . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . LL Cool J

  12. I bet you could generate more energy with less environmental impact by drawing energy off a 100,000 tonne concrete float bobbing up and down in a tide filled chamber acting like a piston. What probability of connecting several like the worlds biggest car engine ?
  13. What do we all think of the provision of government funded services to people who do not or will not speak English ? Welsh has been mentioned but agencies such as the DWP don't just provide free interpreters and translated documents for our cousins in the principality to our west. They provide similar services in Urdu, Gugerati, Hindi, Maratti and Vietnamies amongst many others and such services don't come cheap. Hospitals, job centres etc try to provide interpreters from within there own staff but if none are available, they will pay for them to be externally contracted in at public expence. My own views are simple. With the exception of immigration services, there should only be two languages used for interaction with local and central government agencies. English and BSL (British Sign Language - for the deaf) - with brail and audiotape for the visually impaired. Anyone wishing to use an interpreter should supply there own and dead languages such as Latin, Sanskrit and Welsh should certanly not be provided for. I will happily listen to arguments against this last point if anyone can provide me with evidence that there are more than 50,000 people present in these Islands who speake either Latin, Sanskrit or Welsh and do not also speak fluent English - and thus both need and justify the huge expence of making documents and interpreters available to them at taxpayers expence. Discuss......
  14. Why is it that that the only way of generating tidal power that ever seems to be considered is a barrage with turbines ? At best, this can only generate energy for a third of each tidal cycle and so those coal fired stations need to be kept running to fill the gaps.
  15. My local Lidl still has a pile of £6.99 bite alarms. Did anybody buy one when they first came on sale and if so are they any good or has the fist exposure to rain killed them ?
  16. Ghandi would have just loved the Nazis.....and he must have had a very rose tinted view if India.

  18. Just the job. Thanks guys. I'll have a propper look/play over the next week.
  19. If you're ripping the CD, when the machine finds the wrong track list from the net, hit the "Find Album details" tab and do a manual search until you get the right information. You might also have to alter the "ignore files smaller than" setting if there are very short tracks on the album. If all else fails, just cut and paste track details. If you're only using the machine as a CD player, sorry, no idea.
  20. Why ? Just go out and buy a Calcutta 151 and put the ABU in a case and look at it.
  21. By this logic, we should be very, very worried because the greater part of the planets landmass is technically FRANCE !!!

    Atchu!

I like surreal humour. It always brings a smile to my face when I see a Nike clad chav walking around town proudly displaying the words "Air Max" above his arse.

    Atchu!

I have searched for a joke from rabbit. I have failed. I searched for an appreciative comment from rabbit about someone elses joke. No joy there either. I did find one point where he said that he has a very good sence of humour. Presumably, it's kept locked up for safety.
