    Houses

I reckon that the folks who own the third house are going to have a hard time getting the 2CV out of the garage and down the steps.
  2. Both are news to me. Was the carp record broken accidentally by a bloke fishing for eels ?
  3. They all say that. Your card doesn't confirm where you are in the world. If you're in the West Midlands, The South West or Wales and want details of clubs, training courses, flying sites oe where to buy a wing, drop me a line and I'll put you in touch with my mate Dave.
  4. Ah, Olu Deniz if I'm not mistaken. I have a mate that flies it two or three times a year.
  5. Sounds as if the only way the rockets will work is if you gaffertape them to it's legs and point them away from your water......
  6. We used to use blanks and shotgun primers in our home made fireworks when we wanted a good bang. Got tired of digging chunks of red hot metal out of legs, arms etc after a while though.
  7. Yeh, I've seen some shocking whore's as well.
  8. Is that a Heavy Metal version of "Shock and Awe" ? I'm a lousy speller as well and I've probably just put my head on the chopping block, but it was just too good to miss.
  9. My thoughts exactly. I don't think we've seen the whole story though. Microphones shouldn't carry anyware near enough juice to kill someone do I'd assume that there is something mallicious here or some very incompetent wireing.
  10. I actually used to know a guy who hated one of his collegues with a passion bordering on insanity. Just before leaving, he confessed to me that he'd pi55ed in her pot plants and sat smilling while she cooed over the poor dying things sniffing the pots. When I reacted with laughter instead of discust, he also admitted to waiting till she'd gone home at night, collecting all her personal pens and pencils and taking them to the toilet with hims so he could introducethen to various bodily orifices. Needless to say, he had to leave the room the first time he saw her stick one in her mouth....... After that, I was actually quite glad that he was leaving.
  11. It's also eid. Like a bad day in eighties Beriut in this neck of the woods.
  12. Some crackers there lads. Just being able to fantasize about evil doings just might keep me sane enough not to walk out of the job. I love the cordless doorbell idea. I wonder if I can get a novelty one with mad laughter, spookey voices and footsteps on it ?
  13. Some places are lucky, some aren't. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4394722.stm
  14. I've been a little P'd off with my boss of late and decided to entertain myself by thinking of the best form of revenge should I ever really take the hump and leave. A pint or two of maggots into the office pot plants strikes me as a worthy contender for the title with perhaps a dead fish or two over the back of her filling cabinet draw for extra nose. Any other suggestions ?
  15. Has anyone heared of any comming out of the middle Severn - above Bewdley ?
  16. My biggerst carp fell to a lure as well, all 29lb of it.
  17. This is more fun http://www.kontraband.com/show/show.asp?ID=1339
  18. Carp numbers are increasing on the Severn but locating them and then targeting them is difficult. The section just upstream of the old abandoned bridge at Bewdley in known to hold and produce a head of carp and fish to over 20lb were taken this year. The right hand bank is controlled by the KDAA and I think the left is the top end of Stan Lewis's water.
  19. He's written some good songs but others have made them great. Both "The handbags and the gladrags" and "Itchycoo Park" were better as covers than originals,
  20. I did mine with a stand alone HiFi style CD recorder and then transfered the tracks onto my HDD from the resulting CD's. Very easy to do and satisfactory results. It may well be possilble to do the same thing if you have one of the increasingly popular DVD recorders without having to buy a soundcard and software and then learn how to use it.

    Trip Planning

'tis a shame that you won't be able to fish the rivers while you're here. They don't open up until the 16th of June so I'd guess that you'll be after a bit of UK carping and a few pike. BTW. make sure that Norrie shows you the smaller and slightly less well known Grommit monument as well.
  22. I've never had a pike hit the planer, but 3 or 4 have followed it so closely that they looked as if they were resting their chins on it. In every case, they've just dropped back after 3 or 4m without so much as a swirl or look at the following lure. If it hadn't been for the clear water, I'd never have known they were there.
  23. Another vote for planers here. I built one a few years back and have enjoyed some good catches from my local cuts whilst towing lures (a size 3 Mepps is a favorite) along paralel to the bank. You control the running distance by letting more or less line out so that you can "troll" the lure anywhere from the centre channel to (in bright sunlight) 6" off the far bank. Running depth is controlled by a combination of trolling (walking) spead and the length of the tail behind the board. Mine was about 7" long and made of Balsa and plastic and could be made to run in either direction without re-rigging. It was a littlle unstable at speed or with lures that had more drag than a Mepps but worked well. I have an idea fo a simpler and more stable version and will post them if it works. The US versions look like they're designed to run lure to one side of a boat and are consequently a bit big. If Peter has used them, perhaps he can give you some idea of their size.
  24. The basic problem is that for small orders. the cost of P&P offsets any potential saving on the per unit price. Larger orders over come this but attract 17% VAT plus a "handelling charge" of about £10 per package. I'm always wary of this because a couple of years ago, I placed a big order with Cabelas and they posted it in three separate boxes, each one of which got taxed and each one of which attracted a "handelling charge". The whole thing ended up costing me more than it would have in the UK. I had a dig arround last night and managed to pull together half a dozen various minnows of about the right size and a couple of 6" Long A's. I've also just got 3 or 4 jointed 6" Long A's from Tacklebargins for £4 each. I should get buy with these for my upcomming trip. I guess I'll just have to sort out an order in the new year and get it delivered to one of my brothers mates so he can bring it over on one of his infrequent returns to the old country.
