  1. Phil add me to your list please. scottthomson@btinternet.com Scott.
  2. They only recieved just over 600 letters objecting to the byelaw. Whats that in real terms? 1/4 of the people registered for this forum, 1/4 of the PAC's total membership. Not a lot. Would it made a difference if 1/2 million letters had been recived. Scott.
  3. I posted the original thread asking for support for this issue on the 21st of Oct 2001, I have brought it back to the top so everyone can re-read it and see what happens when you ignore things like this. Scott.
  4. Ive dragged this thread back to the top (it was a while ago)but as you can see this has now happened. Did you do your bit? If you did then thank you? If you didnt then hang your head in shame, you will be quick enough to post a similar thread if your fishing is threatened. This is just the start, next it will be livebaits and coarse deads banned everywhere, then what? Keepnets? Maggots? Boilies? Dont think it wont happen, the reasons given for this ban are flawed and i'm sure they could make a reasonable argument for the banning of anything. We have F****d up big time here, when the next byelaw is proposed make sure your voice is heard, for the sake of us all. Scott.
  5. Its bad enough for the Pike angler, how bad is it for the Perch angler, you dont catch many Perch on Herrings & Sprats. This became law on the 26th, on the day most people recieved the letter (29th) the EA were in the Lake District checking people's baits. How long before its country wide, then what next? Scott.
  6. I remember seeing something a few years ago in which tyres were set in a concrete block (just part of it in a stood up position) and then the blocks were dumped in the sea with the hope of it becoming a reef, but thats all I can remember. Scott.
  7. Sorry David, thanks for your help, that place looked really good but its booked up for the days I want (it only has room for 5 vans) nice website as well. Ellerbeck Farm Thanks to both of you for your help. Scott. PS, David I still remember that goal you scored against the Belgians, excellent.
  8. Chesters, some where between Lancaster, Preston and Blackpool or Penrith & Carlisle, thanks for this, Scott.
  9. Thanks Chesters, any type of coarse fishing, I would really like Pike but Carp, Tench, Bream etc will be fine. As long as the campsite accepts campervans then i'm happy, any facilities are just a bonus. Scott.
  10. I'm looking for a campsite (im in a campervan) that has some on-site fishing. It will have to be in either North Cumbria or North Lancashire, any ideas? Scott.
  11. This might come in handy. They have more at http://www.inflatable-boats.co.uk/ Scott.

  13. Well done for naming them, this post will get deleted (legal reasons probably) but at least a few of us will find the name out before it does. One question though: Why is "ThePiker" buying boilies? Scott. Name & shame them all.
  14. A spare wheelie bin comes in usefull for, starting up an outboard engine without causing damage, keeping a supply of live baits, or using it to keep & breed worms. Perhaps an angler stole it! Scott.
  15. Martin, let me know how you get on, i'm up there for a weekend on the 20/21 of this month. Scott.
  16. That drive around all the time with front fog lights on.

Is there a uk website where I can purchase a decent length of stainless steel wire for making up the legs for brakeaway type leads. Scott. [ 30 June 2002, 10:46 PM: Message edited by: Scott ]
  20. How many kids do you see these days just wandering about the streets? I'm talking small kids (under 6) do their parents know where they are? I can understand your point but it would seem my local council has no idea. Within 1/2 mile of my house there are an Infant, Junior and Senior schools. Out side the infant school the road has been reduced to 1 lane complete with speed bumps, out side the Senior school we have more speed bumps and a Zebra crossing, both these schools have parking restrictions so no cars can park within 100 yds of the school entrance. The Junior school, (full of kids that are perhaps making the journey to school on their own) has nothing, no speed bumps, no crossing, not even a lollypop-man, parking restrictions? None, park where you want and when you want Makes a lot of sense, does'nt it? Scott.
  21. Seen a comment in the paper today, sorry guys I couldnt resist it: "USA v Germany, will the yanks wait till the second half before they turn up." Sorry guys, I would really like to see you beat the Germans, but then again I would rather see us beat them in the final. Scott.

  23. Your right Andy, but you would be using 70lb line to tie your shockleader, the question was about using braid shockleaders which are similar in diameter to the mainline so the knot will be no bigger. Scott. The Fishing Directory
