  1. Sorry, video files, mpegs etc Scott.
  2. I want to put some files on a CD that will play on my DVD player, is there a program that does this? And if so where can I get it. Thanks, Scott.
  3. Ive got a Fuji camera (S304) Ive been using it for some short video clips, the problem is the files are saved in MJpeg format, I was wanting to edit them but none of the progams im using will accept a MJpeg format (Animation shop 3 and Videowave). Is there anyway I can convert these files to another format that my programs will accept, or is there any editing software I can get to edit the files in. Any suggestions? I seem to remember a few on here use Fuji cameras, what do you use for editing your video clips. What im wanting to do is edit clips of various fishing activities to put on a fishing website that I run so they need to be edited as the actors (fish) in them dont always behave as they should. Scott.
  4. The running of a website takes time and money, I guess from the amount of adverts you will have made a few quid but probably not enough to pay all the costs. If you do decide to call it a day then firstly thank you for putting this site together and bringing all these people together. I have learned new things, shared peoples happyness and sadness, had a few arguments and a lot of laughs, made new friends and enjoyed every minute, thank you. I would not blame you and I'm sure most people here wouldnt if you were to sell out and pocket a nice lump of cash, you deserve it for the work you have put in, some people might leave but enough of the regulars would carry on using it to make it worthwhile. But I, as i'm sure others would like to see this site continue as it is so with that in mind I would suggest that if anyone is to run this site then it should be the moderators left to run it when/if you go. Scott.
  5. I think you should watch the replay of the Pizzonia incedent again, he passed at least 3 cars on the short straight before the 2nd corner then used Montoya as a brake, bounced off him clipped a Minardi then had the cheek to wave his fist at everyone. Schumacher has probably been punished by the FIA far more than every other driver and because of his regular appearances at their offices has got away with a few, meaning he has been let off by them more than any other driver. Some of the examples given of how he cheated (aledgedly)are obviously cheats by the team, that being the case then his team mates should/would have benefited as well. In many case Schumi was singled out for punishment while other drivers doing the same thing get away with it. The famous Silverstone incedent when he was black flaged for overtaking Hill on the parade lap in 95, seems odd that the 2 other drivers whom both overtook people on the parade lap escaped punishment. Or last weekend with Pizzonia, who lost out more Trulli or Montoya? As for knocking people off well Schumi is far behind the amount of people Senna knocked off and probably behind Montoya as well. As for him only being a great driver when hes on pole shows how little you have watched GP's. His great wins (quite a few) have been when he started far from pole, 16th in 1 example. Not forgetting several wins when he was easily out-quailfied by the Mclarens/Williams teams (during their dominant period). The problem for most people is they are fed up with him winning and with him having the best car for the last few seasons he has made it look so easy, hence all the 'cheating' rumours that fill every F1 forum, the truth is he is just so much better than the rest, it would be like putting Arsenal in the 3rd division and seeing how they did. Scott.
  6. He has had several seasons in the best car and has won only 12 races, his team mates in that time have won 3 championships. Ok perhaps team orders did play a part (but that was strongly denied by McLaren) lets look at qualifying, in their time together (the longest ever driver pairing) Hakkinen out qualified him 59 to 23 times. Also dont foget his win this year was only down to Montoya screwing up and spinning. DC will never win the championship, and will be lucky if he ever beats Kimi again, this will be his last season in a top team, his slide down the grid will follow before he retires. There seems to be a lot of anti-German feeling towards Schumi, I cant understand this. We are seeing one of the best drivers ever (if not the best) at his peak, just enjoy it for what it is, it will be a long time before we ever see this again. Scott.
  7. Funny how Schumi got a penalty for hitting Trulli but nothing was done to Pizzoni for knocking Montoyas rear wing off. As for DC, how many more chances is this guy going to be given? In his F1 career his team mates have won 3 championships while he keeps saying "this year will be mine" Scott.
  8. Neville Fickling has just done the same with his new book (paid for it himself) not sure of the costs but he was saying if he sold around 2000 copies it would pay for his new boat, so there must be some profit to be made. Try contacting him for more details. Scott.

Make the most of it, it will be a long time before it happens again. Scott.
  10. While im asking, heres another one. I use Animation shop 2 when I try to open a video that was made with the camera it says "Cannot read video data. No suitable video decompessor is available" The file is saved as an AVI The camera is a Fuji S304 and im using Windows ME if that helps. Scott.
  11. On the bar at the bottom where all the little icons appear (right hand side) I used to have one that was for connecting/disconecting USB conections. Just click on it and it would tell you that it was now safe to plug/unplug a USB conector, (is this making any sense?). Anyway it has now disapeared, any ideas? Ive just bought a new digital camera so I now have more plugs than sockets and have to keep disconecting stuff (my old digital used the serial port) Scott.
  12. I use a rig wallet, like the type sea anglers use. I used to use a rig bin but found that if any water got in it there would be rust appearing on all the traces, with a wallet each trace is in its own sealed bag. Scott.
  13. He makes Carp anglers seem normal. Scott.
  14. 193kbps on BT broadband, far better than some but much worse than Grays ntl. Scott.
  15. I agree with Peter Gowmans original comment, but I think in this day & age having non fatal amunition in a gun could be a very big mistake. It was pre-meditated in the sense that he lay there full dressed with a loaded gun waiting for someone to break in but how long he would have to wait was anyones guess, if no one had tried to break-in nothing would have happened and no-one would have ever heard of him. Using that argument you could say that anyone involved in a car crash had pre-meditated it because they were wearing their seat belts and bought a car with airbags. The main issues from this for me are: How can someone get early release just for showing remorse (real or false) its time 5 years meant 5 years. And how can criminals sue people? It wont be long before a burglar sues for not being able to gain access. Scott.
  16. And me, cant stop laughing. The fun you can have with a digital camera and an animation program, I wish my camera had'nt died. Scott. [ 13. January 2003, 10:21 PM: Message edited by: Scott ]
  17. Hi Chris, the best place to get an answer about this is the forum at outboardrepairs.com Scott.
  18. Winter water changes around 10%, if I wanted to only have a 10% water change per week in the winter I would have to put some type of cover over the pond, it rains a lot up here. Scott.
  19. Im sure i've seen pictures of Richard Walker at Redmire in the 50's with his bite alarms, deckchair & tent. If you believe that as many do Richard Walker started the whole Carp tradition then traditional gear will include all of the above. Scott.
  20. In South Cumbria £2 a pint, casters no chance unless you order them over a week before. If you pop into various shop's in the Lake District that might have a bit of tackle for sale in amongst the tourist type novelties you might find little carton's (like you get your mushy peas in at a chip shop) full of maggots for around £1.50 sat next to the Kendal mint cake. Scott.
  21. I have a row of them on 1 side of my garden, they are currently 15-18ft tall. I'll let them get to 20ft or so and then start trimming the tops. Before anyone moans, my garden backs onto a road which is 12 to 15ft above the surface of my garden, up a banking, which means anyone walking on the pavement (sidewalk Newt) can see over them into my garden. I also live near 2 school's and about half the kids from them walk past my house every day and for some reason think my pond's are there to collect cans bottles and whatever other rubbish that can be thrown into it. Now this new law worries me, mine will be 6-7ft above the pavement but around 20ft in height. Now in situations like that will any sense be shown by the people making the decisions or will it 7ft max? Scott.
  22. Is'nt Feb-Mar during the Close season for Char, it is in the Lake District. Scott.
  23. I found May June July the best months, to be honest it was something I did to pass the time on the days the Pike werent playing. I made all the gear myself after seeing it in a book and gave it a try, it was a huge surprise to me when I caught. Having caught a few it lost any excitement for me as trolling lures around all day becomes boring after a while. I didnt keep any records but it was a rare occasion when I didnt take 1 or 2 home (lovely eating) the hard part is landing them, I was getting 3-4 takes for every fish landed most days. I have seen one person that fishes for them with a rod, 1 spinner and use's a downrigger, he told me that he lands most fish, with the handline method there is often slack line that allows the fish to escape. On several occasions I landed 2 fish at a time and often with 1 on the top hook (fished 15ft down) and 1 on the bottom hook (fished 60ft down) If you need any more info or info on the waters (best areas etc) please email me. Scott.
  24. Ive caught Char in the Lake District using the traditional methods (up here) of rowing around trolling spinners, up to 6 spinners on 1 line. For large Char up to 3-4lb then Lapland is the place to visit, have a look at this site its also an ideal place for large Grayling as well. Scott.
  25. At the moment I have 2 ponds, 20ft x 9ft x 4ft with koi and a 8ft x 6ft x 2ft pond with goldfish and the odd roach. In the past I used to have a dedicated fish room containing 30 or so tanks where I kept and bred various fish. Miss having a tank in the house but i've no room for one now. Scott.
