  1. Sorry Peter I'm not letting mine go, but have you looked on Ebay in their USA section.
  2. A good friend sent me this link, about a pink Dolphin Take a look HERE.
  3. Bring it on, we are already booked on Paul Eddons boat. Trot-On BC is your boat booked for the 1st Saturday September 2008. If not I'll take it.
  4. Gorleston Wednesday 07-09-2007 We arrived just before 6am and soon baited rigs were heading seaward. Anticipation was high, as always, with the thought of some prime species turning up. The weather was fine, a northerly breeze, broken clouds and the sun providing some needed warmth, made the start of the day comfortable. We had Lug, Squid, King Prawn and fresh Mackerel for bait. Also during the session we would be trying for Bass with spinners and various plastic/jelly lures. The time passed with no movements of rods, not a likkle rattle, but we were to persevere. Various cocktails and a variety of end rigs were used + plastic/jelly’s but nothing. We cast seaside, beachside and riverside, even if we cast up out backside the result would be the same, the fish were just not there. Other anglers around the pier were getting the same results, zilch Come 3pm we decided that 9hours of not one interested rattle on any of the five rods enough was enough, so clearing up we decided to call it a day. Celebrations started with a group hug, let the party begin, yes we achieved another Golden Blanking Session. The party would continue down a the local Chippy, where you are always guaranteed a quality Cod. One interest of the day, I’m sure the Captain only came alongside to see us Golden Blankers showing off or skill.
  5. A couple of us are off to Gorleston, Norfolk early tomorrow morning. Fishing from the concrete pier we hopefully will catch a fish. As I'm known to be a king blanker, on the shore, maybe a Mackerel or 10lb Bass will see thier way to my baited hooks. I'll be doing my best to catch a British Record Fish, but don't put any money on it. I've got a couple of John Smith's in my box, so a days layed back pier casting will do me fine after Saturdays Boat trip. So watch this space for the report, I may just land myself a Great White.
  6. Rhyl to Whitby Arriving at Whitby 5.50am, we were just in time to get to Arbutts Café for that well presented anglers breakfast. Next into the tackle shop, I don’t know about you, but I’ve always got to buy something out of those Aladdin caves, needed or not!!! Back to the car park, which was buzzing with eager anglers, all anticipating big catches on the day. Loading the boat with our kit, we did notice some anglers must need Pickfords to transport their Tackle Boxes. 7am arrived and the bridge swung open, Whitby Charter boats steered between the piers, then fanned out as the raced towards each skippers chosen GPS plotted venue. Rods n Rigs were geared up ready to haul those dreamed of Cod in the deep blue North Sea. Our first target was Mackerel; some for bait and the rest to be fried or grilled back home. We were not to be disappointed the Mackerel were there in abundance, just under the boat. No sooner had we started enough was enough, the fish were coming aboard 4 n 5 at a time. We were not here for the slaughter, of the shoals, but had plenty of what we required. Soon we head off to the horizon, but with a 20mph westerly, the sea was choppy, not rolling and full of White horses. Today we weren’t to head for the far off wrecks but to fish the inshore wrecks and rough grounds. Soon as we stopped and the skipper shouted right lads, various end rigs were heading for the seabed. With wind and big tide we weren’t, even with1lb weights, able to hold bottom long. With the first drop and knock on the floor, if you didn’t catch, you hauled up and tried again. Those with hookiest above the Pirks stood no chance of getting through the mass of Mackerel that was down there. So time to change tac-tics, treble off the Pirk, hokkies removed. A 12” to 18” snood tide to the main line, on top of the pirk or 12” above. Large hooks baited with Mackerel strips; fillets and squid were to prove the winners. Soon the fish were coming onboard, Cod, Ling, Pouting and Whiting, we were not to be disappointed. Cod up to 4lb+ were the average and Ling up to 9lb. A day of constant fishing, with loads of undersized, going back for another day. The time came when we started to slow down and fillet our catches; all of us had a good bag of filleted fish to take home. Sea Fishing Great, is in’t it.
  7. We met up again yesterday (4th August 2007) i've got to go fishing with Paul.
  8. Rhyl to Whitby We were booked on Alan Tinsley boat “WARRIOR” for our annual trip out of this North Wales venue. Just after 7pm I rang for conformation that the trip would be on! His wife answered the phone to be told he won’t be back till 8pm. For any one that books boats, you know the lads will be ringing up wanting to know if the trip is on/off, so as they can get sorted ready for whatever the outcome the next day. So 7.30pm the phone was buzzing, oh – ah, ring back 8.10pm I told them. 8pm I had contact, with the skipper, to be told the trip was off, adverse weather conditions. Again my mind went into overdrive, where do I get a boat for tomorrow at this time on a Friday night? My first instinct, weather is &rap on the West Coast, so I decided to give Paul Eddon, at Whitby, a call to see if any of the skippers have had a late cancellation. His phone just rang n rang, $hite I though he’s down the pub, well it is Friday night. Quickly scouring my likkle book for east coast skippers, I tried one at Scarborough, no luck. Again searching when the phone rang, amazingly it was Paul Eddon, when I first rang he was taking a call on his other phone, his crew for tomorrow had just cancelled. How amazing was that, we now had our favourite skipper and his boat, TROT-ON, out of Whitby. The lads started to ring in, again – here’s the response, “The Rhyl trip is off” ------“oh ^uck” ------ “The Rhyl trip is off” -------- “£asturd” “But the good news is we are off to Whitby, we are on Paul’s boat TROT-ON” The response from the lads was like likkle children getting their Christmas prezzies the night before. 3am from my house, for the 3hr trip up to Whitby, would be our starting time. Not one of the lads slept the next few hours, all turning up by 2.30am. Here’s a taste of the report to come.
  9. Have you tried removing the bung/cap from the butt end, a vacuum may be the cause.
  10. Sea Fishing Umbrella I'm looking for a good quality one, with one flat edge and hopefully skirts !!! So where I should look for the best deal ? If you've got one that's extra to your requirements, or needs a good home, give me a PM.
  11. Cracking Ken, the lad caught more than me, when on my first fishing session off the Mumbles Pier.
  12. What a fantastic sight that must have been, you've got the best job in the world Paul.
  13. Nice one Ken. Have you ever thought of taking a spare reel loaded with 30lb, straight through, just for those weedy hours.
  14. Sorry Elton, I've just read this post. If you need any help, just let me know what you want.
  15. Cracking Deepseacodmaster. Unfortunately ours was called off, Saturday 7th, because of adverse weather conditions. However we are looking forward to the September Whitby Boat Fishing Festival. See you all there.
  16. I'm pleased to see your clearing out the likkle ones, ready for us to haul those biggunz on Saturday. See you all in the cafe, early Saturday.
  17. Three of us headed for the Holderness (East Yorkshire) Beaches, on Saturday 23rd June 2007. A very early start seen us heading up the M1, dreaming of landing some sort of summer speices on the beach. Our target venue was East Newton, but on arrival we were faced with coastal devistation. The venue normaly offers a gradual track, down to the beach, but in front of us was a sheer 20ft erroded cliff face. Mud on the move, to dangerouse to even think of trying. Back in to the car we decided to try other venues, Easington and Kilnsea, these had received the same devistation. So down to Spurn Road we headed, the road had been breached, but thanks to the local Trust their effort made the Spurn Beaches, accessable. We soon had our base camps set up and by 6.45am baited rigs were heading seaward. Not the earliest start we hoped for but we were now waiting, in anticpation, for our first rod rattling response. The weather for the day, we were to experience hot sunny tempratures, cold winds and thunder n lightning storms. Always thinking positive we waited, n waited for our first rattle, but it never arrived. 4.45pm the last cast was sent to the horizon, but by 5pm enough, time to tidy up and return to the car. Yes another successful day, 3 anglers, 5 rods we mangaged a Golden Blanking Session, any true blanker would have been proud to have achieved. With smiles, on our faces, we headed home were the only conversation was about what we are going to catch at the Whitby Boat Fishing Festival, in a fortnights time. Positive attitudes bring great results, can't wait for our next inging trip.
  18. Bring on the Summer Fishing Festival, see you all Saturday July 7th.
  19. It's great to see your doing fine ST. Keep these reports coming, the photos speak a thousand words. How's the rest of the family, well I hope, I've not seen any reports lately. are they still wetting a line.
  20. 4 of us had a trip across the country, up to Liverpool, this Saturday. As we all know there's not a lot about this time of the year, but the chance to go fishing with the lads, I'll never turn down. Earlier in the week I scanned the weather channels for the forcast for the day. Tides n Times would help to choose the venue. Looking at all the info Mariners Wharf, Liverpool ticked most boxes. Mariners is a venue that is very comfortable, free easy parking, flat walking block paving, lots of space for many anglers, even lit up for a night session if you need it. The area is built around a newish development, with towered flats over looking a marine, full of boats you dream about. It's car safe, so however far you want to walk to fish, you know no ones going to touch your motor. Back to the fishing, as I said there's not a lot about this time of the year. The down side was, I Caught 2 dabs and 1 other from Cliff. Fishing from 6am till 6pm, with seven rods out we'd have starved If we relied on the amount caught That's fishing, but the good side was I got out there, caught the biggest fish, caught the most fish and won a free Cappuccino on the way home. Fishings great innit.
