  1. In Kent, my clubs river venues are generally pretty deserted even at this time of year and I can often wander through our stretches without meeting another angler, I cannot say the same for the lakes, however. I will start me Perch campaign dropshotting on the rivers and see what turns up; I will revert to my worm and maggot techniques only if (or when), the dropshotting fails. Tony
  2. In 1999, I caught my biggest ever Rudd on a fly a PTN to be exact; at Buckland Lake, Cliffe, it weighed 2lbs 8oz. I never managed to repeat the feat as the lake was subject to a major fish kill and subsequently closed. It has now reopened and teh Rudd are still there all beit a lot smaller than the one I caught all thoese years back
  3. Dave Are there any caravan sites nearbye? Tony
  4. Or fortunately perhaps
  5. No need for a specialist scratter, my mates at the Chideock Cider ring just use a simple electric powered garden shredder, the type you would pick up form Argos, The press is another matter though.

John Same here, I had not picked up on the thread and having read it I cannot understand the unwarranted attack on Anderoo's view's; they were clearly based on his experience at a very difficult venue and therefore must be viewed as a valid comment. Just because another poster's experience is different, it should not develop into a personal vindictive. Tony
  7. Sounds OK to me, I have always fancied catching a Sturgeon
  8. Depending on the dates we would certainly be interested, it's easy enough to get across from Kent
  9. Durham Ranger Nice fly and a nicer tune!!!
  10. Andrew let me know when you are next down and we could catch up, it's ages since we had a Medway Mullet Group meeting. Tony
  11. I have to agree with both Anderoo's and Budgies comments. Anyone fancy a dropshot fish in?
  12. arbocop I have already posted a link to this product earlier in the thread. Tony
  13. There are plenty schoolies around the Channel Coast between Folkestone and Hythe, perhaps it is just a problem in the estaury. Tony
  14. Re Wire What about something like this: http://www.grangersfishing.com/shop/product/4225/94
  15. Sounds brilliant; now how do I get accross to Derry?
  16. Emma There was a guy who used to post on AN under the user name FranticFisherman, who fished the lake district lot for Ferox, I believe he still fishes their a lot and has a lot of success from a number of the waters. You can pm him and see if he is still around. Tony
  17. Vagabond Well done have you any of the Whitefish species found in the area? Tony
  18. I got this message yesterday from one of my work colleagues: "Took **** fishing for the first time yesterday. He caught 7 fish with his first a 5+ plus carp (with the rest small perch, roach and I think dace). Pardon the pun but he’s hooked! Magical moment for both of us!" Its not just the kids that get hooked
  19. Dave Feliz cumpleaños' a bit late but I have just got back from a Morris Bash. Tony
  20. It's the 4th of July, have a great day Newt and all of our colonial cousins
  21. Gizmo Look at this article plaiting is fiddly and does not really confer any advantage over a normal marabou tail, in my opinion it is actually worse as it is not so mobile.
  22. MiddleEastland Sea France is still bumping along the bottom please see the latest article from the FT, I suspect the French gov. will ignore EU rules and bale out part of a state owned company. http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/fab6b1fc-9cd5-11...l#axzz1QkeXu4Oo Tony
  23. Anderoo What happened to your dropshot rod? Tony
