  1. Its not as bad as it looks as most of the kit goes in the Korum rucksack and the rod holdalls; the rest we get into a couple of Korum bait bags and a Nash holdall (well not the bedchairs and bivvie but you get the point).
  2. The local Peacocks, Nightingales, Cetti's, Reed and Sedge warblers not withstanding!!!

  5. Anderoo The Duo Light Specialists were made by Fox, not Drennan I have two of the 0.5lb test curve and can confirm they are superb rods. I think the range has been discontinued (typical Fox), but they do make a 1.5lb test curve Duo lite Barbel which looks like it would fulfil your requirements; look here for details: http://www.billyclarke.co.uk/index.php?mai...b7d9f56a433be0c Regards Tony
  6. Ha ha or in my case speaking french with a Geordie scottish accent, could you imagine what that would sound like????
  7. Er that would put my family, Snatcher and a load of Geordies and Northumbrians into Scotland, something they strugged against for centuries. Independence for the Isle of Wight
  8. Probably Bonefish, they can be easier and the gear is lighter to carry in my luggage (the 12# reel is a bit of a beast).
  9. Fantastic fish Steve, well done!
  10. Oh dear I could not possibly chose between them; I usually take rods and flies for both. Tony
  11. My advice is to scrounge some shrimp from the hotel and get yourself out on a pedallo. Tony
  12. Dales My mate, Will, advises re Guardalavaca: usual reef species of small snapper, jacks n grouper to hotel prawns n plugs. there are some areas of mangroves near dolphin park that locals say hold tarpon. tried a charter trip - waste of time but hobie cats were good for grouper n stuff. someone off the WSF forum went last year and had cuda on the fly - his review still on there under carribean section. beaches very busy and deep so either pedalos but i recommend casting big plugs or poppers from surf at dawn or dusk might help! Tony
  13. Ashford Tackle in Faversham is not to far out his way on the way down I think they open at 08:30. Their address is 52 St. Mary's Road Faversham Kent ME13 8EH Tel: 01795 530160 Fax: 01795 591625
  14. Yes, Pimientos del piquillo con melva, mmmmm.
  15. lozza I used to prefer a double taper on the rivers but at the ranges I was fishing I discovered it made no real difference. As you tend to be fishing at short range them a steep forward taper is useful so you can load your rod quickly, without having too much line aerialised.
  16. Dave I like to get them from as many sources as I can, the internet, newspapers, TV, radio, public lectures, books etc. it is the only way to getr a balanced view and enables me to form my own opinions. Tony
  17. Dales A mate of mine was there a year ago, I will see what I can find out for you. Tony
  18. Blast!!! I'm up North two weeks later I would have fancied going along to this. Tony
  19. Slacklines Have you fished the Derwent? I have often fancied it as it is not too far from sue's sisters house in Winlaton. Tony
  20. Where are you going Dales, we are off again in October to Cayo Coco? Tony
  21. I used to fish Nerja and only ever used to catch Annular Bream (or other closely related species), Painted Wrasse and Comber, but there where reputed to be Barracuda, Grouper (Mero), and Leerfish (Palometa) any of these would be big enough to be the fish you describe. There are also Shark, Tuna and other beasties in the med that could pull the old wire as well. Tony
  22. Happy Birthday Alan. Were you down in Kent? Tony
  23. Cory The age of consent in Spain is only for sex between minors i.e. 13-16 year age group if a 30year old or even a 19 year old was to have a relationship with a 13 year old it would be deemed to be illegal. ie.e. The age of consent in Spain is 13, as specified by the Spanish Penal Code, Article 181(2). However, if deceit is used in gaining the consent of a minor under 16 years an individual can be charged under Article 183(1) upon parental complaint. "181(1) El que, interviniendo engaño, cometiere abuso sexual con persona mayor de trece años y menor de dieciséis, será castigado con la pena de prisión de uno a dos años, o multa de doce a veinticuatro meses. (Approximate translation: An individual who, by use of deceit, commits sexual abuse with a person over thirteen years and under sixteen years, will be punished with imprisonment for one or two years, or a fine equivalent to twelve to twenty-four months...) (2) A los efectos del apartado anterior, se consideran abusos sexuales no consentidos los que se ejecuten sobre menores de trece años, sobre personas que se hallen privadas de sentido o de cuyo trastorno mental se abusare." (Approximate translation: For the purposes of the preceding paragraph, the following are considered non-consensual sexual abuse, sexual abuse of children below thirteen years, people who are bereft of capacity or having a mental disorder which is abused)" Sorry to be off topic a bit. Tony
