  3. Getting back to politics, well done Tone. Dracula's back in his coffin and the ginger lad can get back to deluding himself. Funny how there was a no show by the Countryside Alliance. Maybe now we can pressure the government to go full tilt in wiping out hunting with hounds completely, and making the Freedom to Roam legilsation solid. santa

  5. For best results, kill your maggots individually. This way, the rest of the herd don't suspect whats happening and thus die without undue stress. That should stop the Antis getting on the case.

    syrup?

MAple syrups a bit expensive. Could you use "mapeleen" syrup, you know that cheap stuff you get on yer pancakes at the Little Chef?
  7. I go fishing for many reasons but for the last 6 months it's been a life saver against all this election bullshit. I have a favourite, but it's like choosing what method you want to be executed by! We still need to be vigilant, keep up the pressure on all parties, whoever is in charge. We can start by severing all contact with the Countryside Alliance. Anyone seen them lately? ---------------------------- "One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors."

  9. Vagabond I wish I had that web link before going. I was in Glenns ferry about 90 miles form Boise. The work was so intensive that there really wasn't time to get out and about. All the nearsst towns were likewise. Did get some carp fishing for a couple of hours on the Snake River. Caught lots, mostly carp from 3-4lbs but one went near to 10. This river is noted for the big channel cats and enormous sturgeon. If I go again well I might ba able to get in my old wedding suit again!!
  10. I am sure we had some sort of cut-off stretch, not now connected to the main river, maybe an old mill run or similar?
  11. Stewart Does the Albert still have the canal? Can't find in my Albert waters manual? ----------------------------------- We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give." -Winston Churchill
  12. "The food is excellent, but like everywhere else in the USA, the portions are huge. There is a surplus of "fries" (chips) in particular" I know it's a fishing forum but I have to challenge the statement above. I lost about half a stone during my 12 day stay in Idaho last Autumn! The food was uniformally crap, even those non-chain home cooking places. I guess states along the border with Mexico have better alternatives. Aah, Rosies Tamalies in Casa Grande, mmm.
  13. Thanks for the advice lads. My only worry is that with the amount of good fishing available, how do I keep the missus amused?!? I think I'll get her a weekly licence. The magical halibut pellet seems to be all conquering at the moment. I fish the Ribble mostly and you just don't forget your halibut pellets. Lately, though, I have noticed that the smaller size, 11mm take the most barbel when it used to be the 22mm. In fact my best double was caught on a single banded 8mm. Time perhaps to rethink. Boilies have started to make an impact last season with a number of multi-catches of big fish, some with a couple of doubles and a number of back up 8's and 9's. Flavours not yet revealed! Again, thanks for the info and Tight Lines! ------------------------------------- "Only the wisest and stupidest of men never change." -Confucius
  14. Before you all do your next night shift, make sure you watch the video of RING. Then pop off to that lonley dark vigil. ghost
  15. Slodger Thanks. Will check out in local library. "You have nothing to fear but the missus herself" Issac. demon
  16. Thanks Cyranne 12. Looking at the map, Mordiford is right on the route we want to take. Usual tactics for the Lugg barbel? --------------------------------------- @I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter." Winny.
  17. In the last two weeks of June, me and the wife will be taking two weeks in the van heading for the west country via Shropshire/Hereford area for the first week then onto Devon/Cornwall for the last week. Any suggestions re good fishing in these areas? Am familiar with the Severn, Teme and Wye but not so with their tributaries and the still waters. If anybody knows of decent caravan sites with good fishing, please let us know. ----------------------------------- "All of us, at certain moments of our lives, need to take advice and to receive help from other people." -Alexis Carrel, Much oblidged. P.S. Will bring some rock back.
  18. The Vicuna smoking jacket would be quite hairy and with a long neck I guess. As a kid I read, or thought had read all DW's books but can't recall The Irish Witch. ----------------- "Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known." -Carl Sagan
  19. Sorry Thought you were talking about Boddies Brewery!
  20. You're probably right Jonah13. Will check them out next time I,m in. -------------------------------- "To build may have to be the slow and laborious task of years. To destroy can be the thoughtless act of a single day." Keep the Leprechaun out of Old Trafford.

  22. Congrats Chesters1. Is your pseudonym after the famous Chesters Mild, brewed in Manchester, but now sadly demised? -------------------------- What do I know about sex? I'm a married man. Tom Clancy
  23. Nighting on the Ouse and just a little nervy, my mate just turned his head slightly and found a deer had just done the same and they were inches away from each other. I heard the scream a mile upsream. ----------------------------------- Fear is that little darkroom where negatives are developed." -Michael Pritchard
  24. I was caught while crapping by a bailif once.
