  2. Just as an aside we are based in Louth not far from you. We do not have retail premises (we trade online only), but it's worth bearing in mind if you are after gear. I was up in Lincoln near the guillitine lock near Starglaze (don't know that area that well), lads seemed to be having some good fishing there though!
  3. I use one of our Fladen match rods, took a good 9 or 10lb carp last September when tench fishing. Held up alright though, needed to play the drag just a little more than I do with the carp rods, but it makes life more interesting!!
  4. I use (and we sell) ready made traces (snap tackle sort), and I personally have never had any trouble. Given the price I do not tend to re-use them after sessions though at 30p each it's not the end of the world. I did have some trouble with 'bare wire' snap tackle traces before I began selling tackle - which I bought locally. If you put a medium plug (or larger) - you know - a rapala style 10cm job. Every now and again on the cast you'd see your lure shoot off onto the opposite bank, and reel in your line, swivel, wire minus the clip and your lure!! Deadbait traces, because you simply cannot find them easily (commercially) I make myself using 20lb b/s wire, 35cm, good solid crimps, size 4 or 6 trebles. In fact, it's really how we started trading, since we had a production line going here where we used to make them in packs of five and shift them on eBay (ahh the early days). We'd get through (at peak times) a couple of hundred a week, which was pretty good going!!
  5. Interesting comments about brakes. My bike is looked after 'reasonably' well but my brakes due suffer BADLY in the rain (by design I feel, rather than neglect). It does beg the question wether this shouldn't have been given higher priority by the government rather than this daft law that ALL new bikes must be sold with bloody bells - no self-respecting teenager keeps them fitted (and it's not compulsory to keep them fitted anyway) and the noise the 'pinging' type ones make is highly unlikely to be heard in a Ford Mondeo blasting out Radio 1. If a pedestrian is in your way, the BEST method of alerting them is to shout. I have a bell fitted and have *never* used it!! All bikes should really have disc brakes - they work a dream and cost next to nothing (sub £120 bikes are available with discs now). Fitted lights wouldn't be a bad idea (for what they cost) and there should be enforced regs on tread depths. With regards to riding a bicycle when drunk. I was always told that if caught, and you had *any* form of driving license, that points *could* be imposed. It might be bull, but that's what I've always believed.
  6. What's the code, what's the s/engine? Assuming main articles are flat html?
  7. XP Home... I am assuming it is many hundreds or thousands of lines and too awkward to re-type. If your system has a restore point a day or two old would that not recover the Excel file back to it's state n days ago. Might not, but it's worth looking at if you are still stuck
  8. They look pretty good from a spec perspective, a little odd aesthetically though. Still £70 for the spec looks a good price - and after all, it will be fairly dark so who really cares how it looks!!
  9. "Excellent service" - Ta Steve! Always nice to get positive reviews of products. These, like most of the fladen gear, indicate something I've said on -lots- of posts and that is the Scandanavian gear really is top-notch (across the board) and most is half the price and better quality than the better known makes. Glad we could be of service. [ 29. June 2005, 05:27 PM: Message edited by: UK-Fishing-Tackle.co.uk ]
  10. I run a car, and I cycle every day (work). Got hit on Christmas Eve by a woman in a fancy sports car who opened her door on me, straight in front of an incoming car that missed me by two or three feet. I agree MANY drivers fail to pay due car or attention to cyclists. However, I also think all cyclists should be forced to have mandatory insurance. I completely knackered her door and whilst I wasn't at fault I'd bet it was a £1000 repair. In some instances it *could* have been the cyclists fault and we have to accept that whilst drivers of cars make mistakes cyclists do as well! Coppers should also stop bikes occasionally and check them for roadworthyness. I've seen some that just shouldn't have been ridden on the road.
  11. I'd say yes - include with and without WWW
  12. Jacket Ordered Monday AM. Cheers - Ian
  13. I am not a Kayaker but if it was me I'd look for a SOLAS approved tape, which is basically the same stuff they use on floatation suits and life jackets etc (it really is very hi-vis).
  14. Not good (my part time IT work is kind of centred around that very thing). For a newbie guide visit: www.webmasterworld.com - it's not a ten minute job though and will require a *lot* of effort.
  15. No problem. I'll sort payment with you Sunday evening/Monday (I'll make a manual note of these sort of things Elton so you'll still pick up comission on them.)
  16. You can do this via .htaccess files (assuming your sites are on linux boxes, which given the PHP I guess is a gimme). I'll dig out the code tomorrow evening, and PM it over to you. (Carping tomorrow and it's getting late tonight) Ian
  17. I once had a car nicked. Recovered from the thiefs driveway who (a nearby witness said to me) was dismantling it. No prosecution. No prints. Car written off. £200 insurance went to £1200, £800, £550 on subsequent years before returning to normal. Just put my Primera on the market today - moving to a smaller (more economical fuel wise) car. Any thoughts on 2004/2005 1.2l Corsas (16v) anyone??
  18. I am all for sea licences. I am also for a complete ban on commercial angling within a set perimeter of the coastline. What I am not in favour of is a sea licence AND commercial angling continuing as it is. I am pretty sure that time after time it has been shown that recreational sea angling (if managed properly) would contribute more to our economy than the existing commercial fleet does (though I am no expert and appreciate the articles I read - mainly recreational - may well be biased!!).
  19. XL - usually below 90kg XXL - above 90kg None in stock in XXL (we sell mainly XL's), but again, I can have them in for Tuesday, out for Wednesday in Red/Orange, Green or Black. Cheers
  20. If you can wait a day or two I can have orange in on a next day, same price (I've got some of the commercial suits coming in on Tuesday I can tag it onto that). Let me know over the weekend if you wanted to go ahead! Cheer
  21. That's how it's supposed to work I think that around 15% of the traffice I get from google is incorrectly geo-targetted. Fine - I can allow for that in costings, but it is definitely not a perfect system. Still it is a great means to advertise though, and a useful source of income for some webmasters.
  22. Hmmm...Last night might have been a reality shock methinks...... Jones (our star keeper/batsman) who many will think I have a personal vendetta for didn't bat well (so we might as well have had Chris Read). Flintoft -gave- his wicket away (he does it too often). The only good thing about the performance was Gough, who doesn't play test matches anyway!!! It says what I've believed since the age of 10 (I am 25 now) that the infamous England batting collapse is alive and well - the difference is when I was 10 it used to start at batsman number 3, and it now starts at no. 1!!! If England play one or two days like that in Ashes matches it's game over. The Aussies might not be on 'top-form' but their 'par' game is much better than that of ours!!! Meanwhile.... Bloody Annoyed - was supposed to be at the Notts 20/20 tonight, but the rain has put paid to that idea!
  23. Hmm... Do you have a lot of USB devices connected? Is 'enabled USB keyboard in DOS' enabled in your BIOS? Be my first two checks. After that, for what a PS2 keyboard costs (84p from www.ebuyer.co.uk) I'd buy a new keyboard and write the old one off as a duffer! Ian
  24. Looks much better now summer. All I would do is take the table with to 90% and centre them so that you have a bit of whitespace around the edge and the text will fill the boxes better and it will be easier to read. Wouldn't worry about the black boxes though - they look alright.
  25. Presumably it's the blue/green bars you want centered. If you email the file to me (PM me for an address) I'll quickly open it up in frontpage and take a look. I can see the problem from here though. The bars are in as paragraph text. The paragraphs are not big enough on higher resolutions to have the bars below the image to the immediate left or right. What you need to do is create a table 1 row, by 2 columns. Put the image in one column, the text in another AND THEN put the divider beneath the table. Repeat the process for each section. As I said, if you PM me or send me the file I'll edit the original page so you can see what I mean. Cheers Ian
