  1. Hi Chris, I'll be going again this year . Last year was my first and I had a really good time. I caught a couple of nice carp ,and lost a couple  and the wife came with me, as she is this year. Maybe I can get her interested to fish one year . I've put my name down for Sandhurst again. What I didn't realise there was a raffle, and does this take place in the car-park where you sign in  Whats the name of the road where the sign-in takes place  Regards Mark

    Help!

Can anyone help with this problem. I need to send a fishing pole to a friend in North Yorkshire. Its lenght is 2.2 mtrs and the weight around 2 Kg.I went to my local main post office and they don't deliver items over 1.5 mtrs. I've tried a courier company who quoted me £60 to deliver and £15 because of the weight a total of £75. No wonder these companies are going down under with their prices. Anyone got any ideas.

    Luncheon Meat

Have you tried "Hair rig" Tie the same as normal but on the hair put a piece of plastic tubing the size of meat you require. Because of the tube, the meat stays on. The line dosn't cut through the meat. I've used it with great success. Hope this helps.
  10. Hi Chris, Starting to get sponsors from 2morrow. It looks like I might get a few sponsors. I've asked people in work, at fishing lakes where I fish, Family. So it looks like I'll raise a few bob. [Hopefully] By the way chris, will there be any bans? Hooks, Baits, etc. And can we fish the venue before the fish-in on day ticket. Mark.

  18. Why don't the unemployed try for a job as a with their nearest railway company. ( Foe example a Train Driver in their local area. The pay is very good between £26,000 - £35,000 35 hour week 33 - 34 days leave per year) The work is not hard at all once passed the exams. I drove trains for 20 years and must admit it was the best move I ever made. Most Railway companys mainly only employ staff from their local area now.
  19. I've just purchased a 36 ltr cooler box from "Wollies" for £15.99. It also has a six pack cooler box inside along with a flask. Not Bad I reckon.
  20. Visiting my local tackle dealer today, looking at Carp gear I noticed that Funnel Web PVA System was priced at £10.50. I didn't bother looking at the replacement web that might of shocked me too. Is there a cheaper alternative about.

  23. I usually put down a blanket of Hemp/Sweetcorn, and fish overtop with either 1 or 2 grains of corn on the hook. But thats depending on the size of Tench your after. Alternately, a mixture of Sweetcorn/White Bread/Hemp, again with 1 or 2 grains of corn on hook. I've never failed to catch with either of these two methods. I fish with a 2AA Insert waggler weighted so only the top part of the float shows, and you should be able to detect all types of bites. including the lift bite. 6 to 12 inches overdepth. But this depends on the water you are fishing, as apposed to the size of float you use. [shallow: smallish Deep: larger etc:] Hope this helps. [ 01 July 2002, 08:38 PM: Message edited by: mkj ]
