  1. Ziffy, if you are getting your car through mobility, you have these options.........copied from the mobility website. http://www.motability.co.uk/ Delay in Supply Q. If there is a delay with supplying the car, what can I do? A. In the event of a delay, you have the following options: 1. You can wait for the car and Motability Operations / DWP will reimburse your allowance for the period you were without the vehicle; 2. If a lengthy delay is expected, you can apply to the DWP to have your allowance re-instated; 3. You can cancel the application and go to another Accredited dealer, but you may be liable for a cancellation fee by the supplier. Where the Accredited dealer is aware of a possible delay in the delivery of a new car, they are required to advise the customer accordingly when they place their order. The dealer should ensure the customer understands the implication of the delay and accepts the delay. Should the dealer fail to do this, customers will be permitted to cancel orders if they do not wish to wait for the arrival of the new car. No cancellation fee will be paid where the cancellation of a car is as a result of a fault on the Accredited dealer's part. Where the delay is a result of a fault/non action on the part of a customer, and the customer still wishes to cancel, the Accredited dealer is permitted to charge the customer a cancellation fee. 2. Hi, prez, I use ultima pro, its not bad, but I dont test it to any extremes, (micrometres etc), I use it on my pole line length and hook lengths, but a line that Im beginning to use and find stronger and thinner is "Reflo" powerline, a little dearer, but worth it...cheers...hoppy
  3. Stefan, If you are targetting bigger roach, baits for me to use would be...fresh caster, small sweetcorn (big uns love it), and meat, mind you, if other species are in the swim, watch out! Float rod every time, brilliant to see that float sail away at speed, oh, and chuck some cooked hempseed in too and white crumb...all the best...hoppy
  4. "GORDON BENNETT".....I'd need the whole block of flats that I live in, to park that!!!!
  5. Cranfield, I sure like the look of your HiLux Surf Import, very impressive, is there any about like that, that I may be able to buy for around 4k or even less (wishfull thinking). Jeeps, thanks...oops got to go, city link courier at the door with my repacement pole....bye for now hoppy
  6. Thanks everyone for your replies, I didn’t think there was such a big interest in 4x4s on AN, but keep them coming. I’m not going in for off roading as a sport or a hobby, it’s just that the wife and I are getting on a bit and find it a bit difficult to get around, especially getting to those awkward out of the way fishing venues, some of them I’ve been to I’ve turned round and not bothered to venture down the track, because of the rough terrain, and may damage the MPV I have at the moment. Anyway, back to the choices that you are suggesting, I was in my own opinion having a liking for the Fronterra, but aagh not so good,eh! Well my next was the Rav 4, but I don’t think I’ll be able to get one for 4 grand, will I? And it’s a bit small inside. But what about the Toyota Hi Lux Surf, I like the look of that one, and the Landcruiser too but might be a bit pricey. Then the Suzuki Vitara, but it may be a bit small to get my gear in. I like the Landrover Discovery and the Mitsubishi, but is the Pajero an import, what will or is the problem with that? Hondas are going to be out of my price bracket I think, but I do like it. I did spot a Ford Maverick somewhere in some adverts I was browsing on the net and didn’t take much notice of it, Davy Holt and Jeepster have mentioned this motor and sounds good, what price did you pay for it? Is it within my budget. Oh by the way, some of the insurances mentioned sound really reasonable, But what is NFU, is that the national farmers union, running insurances?... Cheers..hoppy PS...bought the Auto Trader this evening NE edition, so I’ll be having a browse through that
  7. Thanks for the 2 replies up to now lads. Excalibur, Do you want a toy/posermobile, or a no frills worker? I'm looking for a bit of both realy, One for when I can get down those rutted wheel tracks to some of those awkward fishing venues (doesn't do my zsara piccaso much good) and other for when I take the wife out, for a bit of comfort and for a meal somewhere...cheers By the way, is insurance much dearer on these type of vehicles?
  8. Hello everyone, I need a bit of information, if you don’t mind, on used 4x4 off road type vehicles, 2.0litre or more, petrol,(turbo diesel injection considered) manual gearbox preferred ie: suzuki hard top, vauxhall fronterra, mitsubishi, kia sportage, toyota, and so on, which would you consider to be most advisable and reliable, in running costs, handling, servicing, faults etc. I’ve been looking at car marts and ads on the web and have seen a considerable few ranging for my price bracket of £1500 to max £4000. I need to know a bit more about these type and what to look for in these vehicles as I haven’t had one before....Cheers Thanks a lot...hoppy
  9. Must have taken a long time to claim your mobilty allowance Ziffy, 2 years in the waiting, still, nice to see you are finaly getting there. I have a Xsara piccaso, (due for renewal next year) plenty of room to get all my gear in. All the best mate...cheers...hoppy

  11. I think Newt is the best one for this, But its maybe your "internet options" set up is configured to automatic dialing? I dont think it should happen on cable modem.
  12. Seems Maver are having problems with rods and poles breaking
  13. Wish I was still in the business (retired) these are bargains!
  14. keeping my eye on this post, I'm going to south somercotes this saturday for 2 weeks, so any info will be helpful to me...cheers...hoppy
  15. Making a cheap seat box is easy, go to your local plumbing merchant and get one of those 15 gallon plastic water header tanks/cisterns, the type thatis usualy in you loft, or whatever size you want, have a look at the different sizes, then all you have to do is make a strong lid for it. I did for my first ever box. Go on, you know you can do it.... all the best hoppy
  16. I use the Hopkins and Holloway "Seymo" pop-a-pot device and make my own pots from those plastic film cannisters or the tops of spraycans and hairsprays. Just burn a hole in the base of the cap with a heated small screwdriver or large nail to the size that is required for the pop-a-pot device and push it on....
  17. Good Heavens! That reminds me! "I must make some boilies" Big uns
  18. I think in time, those roadside speedcams will disappear, because of the costly damage, what will replace them? speed detector strips built into the road with a electronic chip device built into the cars system to identify car regstrations? I'm not giving the authorities ideas, but is something like this already in the pipeline? ooer
  19. Cheers Alan, received mine today. I was out fishing eary when the post arrived, got back this evening, checked it out, chromes superb, gave it a breathe on and polished it, nice and shiny, looks dead easy to operate. I'll gave you a report when I have had to use it and how it performed. All the best mate ...hoppy
  20. Good guide Rudd, Ive always used that method too, hook length always weaker than mainline, and dont forget (I dont know by what percent) but line strength is reduced by knots.
  21. Hi Aanth, firstly go into "my computer" there you will find "printer" click on that and you will find the options that you want, ie clean print head, make sure you have some paper loaded into the machine. When its finished, there should be an option, "print test page" or something like that, if it still looks the same, do the whole thing again, if its still the same, new cartridge wanted and Im afraid Lexmark are expensive, some models, its almost cheaper to buy a new printer. Anyway good luck hope you manage....hoppy
  22. Chris and Hoppy, they went off yesterday I have sent you both the first ones to be chromed and am still waiting for the main batch Alan(nl) Cheers Alan, I didnt get any post Saturday 24th, Monday 26th is a bank hol, so probably Tuesday 27th when I get my disgorger then...all the best...hoppy
  23. Try "Wilkinsons" store, if you have one, "Halfords" bike section, bicycle shops, model shops. I use, "Plasti-kote" odds "n" ends fast dry enamel. 100ml £2.19 spray can, probably cheaper by painting by brush. [ 23. May 2003, 09:59 PM: Message edited by: hoppy ]
  24. I also visited the Mohnesee dam, way back in 1961 when I was doing my 2 year National Service in the Army Air Corps.Walked across to the middle with my wife and little boy, you could just make out the repairs to the dam where it had been breeched, breathtaking.I will always remember what those lads who perished in 1943 did for me and our country, to defend the right for freedom and free the world of those agressors, (I was only 5 years old at the time)... God Bless you All hoppy
  25. I had the same prob, my avatar was a monkey bouncing a coconut in gif pic format, but had to change it to jepg format to send to gray over the web, (for my avatar) then the animation ceased to work. Maybe there is someway round it???
