  1. Elton, you want a SINKING rope and NOT a floating one as the Blue stuff does
  2. Looking at the website you can tell they are the owners of Fishrite as well cant you :-)
  3. all sorted, it seems we are getting bombarded by search engines that are taking 600mb per vist from our bandwith
  4. For those of you trying to access the Wirral Sea Fishing website to find the answer to the competition for the Abu 7000, at present the site is down due to us exceeding the bandwith allowence, the site should be up and running later today now that we have put an extra 50p in the meter. Thanks Chris
  5. JRC STI 2 Man Bivvy, easy to erect and room for loads of kit around £175.00
  6. they are heavy where as more expensive ones are not, but for the cost they are good value for money, if they last 2 / 3 seasons in constant use then for £70.00 you cant go wrong really.
  7. they are on good deals with reels as well Chris to be honest, but the question was regarding the top section.
  8. £24.95 for the top section Spare Part No SP0845, not knowing what area you are from i am unable to give you your local stockist. For Chris: Leeda own the following brands: Wychwood Mustad MAP CFS All very good brands with very good products within there range, Leeda is the "budget" brand name rather like Redwolf is for Pure Fishing (Abu Garcia) As for them selling in "non tackle shops" well i am all for it, more anglers out there the better, the one thing argos cannot do is offer advice, thats what gets you the repeat business, Shakespeare sell to Asda, Tesco, Fishright sell direct as do many other tackle companys
  9. Simple Answer.... if you have a TV or any recording equipment that has a tuner that can recieve BBC in any format then you need a licence, and then even if you dont they have a way of forcing you in to it
  10. I have the Juwel Vision 180, great tank, the cabinet is also good, I also bought the foam backgrounds, only keep Barbs in the tank and a Knife Fish and it is 12 months old now and i have not had a problem at all.
  11. Not sure if this counts, but it is to do with Easter as this is the time we restock our lake.... Title - YIPPEEEEEE Date: Friday 7th April Photographer - Chris (wirral sea fishing) Camera - Sony Cybershot Exif Data - Dont understand that bit... Sorry
  12. you not wrong there Norm :-(
  13. For the tackle industry this is indeed a worrying time, bird flu is spread by bird "poo" to be frank, this could cause simalar restrictions as foot and mouth did, while farmers will be ordered to move flocks inside for safe keeping, th risk will still be present outside, with wild birds being the biggest problem to all as there is no means of controling them in to one particular area, so i can see farmers restricting access to lakes, rivers and so on if they keep chickens, geese etc etc, the foot and mouth issue cost many a tackle dealer there living, lets hope this time we have goverment intervention alot faster.
  14. a very costly lesson taught me that Norm .....
  15. In fairness to Daiwa ............. (that hurt) The problem was proberbly down to storage at the point of purchase and not a Daiwa problem (that hurt again) as Norm has already said, line is a funny thing really, as a tackle shop you have to buy it in bulk to ensure your supply and it is difficult to get the correct amount all the time, to little and you soon run out, too much and you have to make sure you store it correctly otherwise it could be money down the drain, Our line is stored in a dark dry room that has NO sunlight at all, this seems the safest way for us, you should have really spoken to the shop that you bought it from in order to sort out your problem.
  16. Thats a Bargin .. these sell for 69.99 all day long so 35.00 is a snip
  17. nick what you want from my site (bar the report maps) they have taken so long to devlop..... http://www.wirralseafishing.co.uk
  18. Level winds have thier place in life the same as any other bit of tackle, from a boat wrecking then i use a Abu 7000 & 9000 both with level wind, from the beach I use Abu 6500's I also hhave a 7000 that has been converted (Properly) as well as a 6500 with 7000 gearing for rough ground. The biggest problem with level winds is the leader knot, unless you get it small enough then this can catch and cause you to loose distance, but as said in earlier post, bait can drop 30 - 50yds from your cast, so make sure you use clip down rigs. A handy hint for those using a level wind is to make sure that a clip or swivel is used to ensure that the line stays in the correct position for the next time you use it, we have lots of Abu 7000's and 6500's in that all require new level winds, and the main reason is that the line is feeding off the reel incorrectly (ie levelwind to the right but line feeding from the left) , this causes alot of stress on the level wind gearing etc and causes it to wear alot faster. For those wanting a larger reel for such as the Abu 7000 for rough ground or heavy work, but dont want the level wind on, then you can get it converted, but i do advise that if the reel is new then you get it done properly in order to stay within warranty, again we see reels come in for repair that have had a conversion done but instead of either removing the bar it is just cut away, or the bar has been removed but the gearing is still working and the holes left from the bar removel are plugged with silocone or plastic plugs instead of stainless studs.
  19. I can only wish to get a phot like that - fantastic
  20. newt, the topic seems a little split, however if you are coming the UK and Jan is staying in the US then to be very honest landline is far cheaper with a telecoms card that can be bought in most "corner shops", if however you and Jan want to keep in touch while you are both in the UK, then i will personnaly buy you both 2 throw away phones on a pay as you go system for the UK network
  21. As you know i bought Yakity's old XT from him, that was the easy bit, the bigger problem was getting it from the other end of the country to me as most couriers will only take 3mtrs, however Bill spoke to Simon and a courier was arranged at cost via him, it arrived very well packaged and the day after it was despatched, i also purchased my paddle from Simon who was more than helpfull and needless to say my Dry Cag and other stuff will be purchased there as well thanks again Chris
