  1. So In the meantime, while it is taking months or longer for the hook to rust it is ok for the carp to drag the leadcore and rig about is it? Jesus Says it all really.

  6. A man walks into a watchmakers, unzipps his flies, walks up to the counter and flops his d**k on the counter. The women serving says excuse me sir you can't do that in here. The man replies this is a watchmakers isn't it, which the women replies yes sir. The man says, well put a couple of hands on that.
  7. I must admit we bought all our accessories from them aswell and have no complaints at all. Incidentally, before we went to B&Q we had a look around an HKS showroom and the prices they are charging will make your hair curl, a standard kitchen will cost you the best part of £15000. I think if you had one of there kitchens then you had to have all of the appliances aswell, which were top of the range of course. We walked straight out and went straight to B&Q.
  8. I think they make all there money on the fitting costs. The kitchen cost us about £1500 but to have it fitted aswell cost us £3500 in total minus the £500 we got back. Steve
  9. Great Story But as the saying goes " it was worth it in the end " You will always look back on that trip as one of the best you ever had. And what a Result eh. Wish i was there. Steve
  10. I bought a kitchen from B&Q last year. We had the lady come round and plan it out for us. The day arrived when the kitchen was being delivered and to my surprise there was only one thing wrong, the sink was a horrible green and not the champaigne we ordered. B&Q went out of there way and got us another more expensive sink and let us have it for the same price. Also when the kitchen was being fitted one of the worktops was damadged and we had to wait for a new one to be delivered which they gave us our money back for. Then we find out that the Lady who planned it did not order enough tiles so we had to go and get another £200's worth at no extra cost to ourselves seeing as it was there mistake. The fitters were superb and did a fantastic job, and to top it all off we ended up with a few bits left over which we were told we could take back to the shop for a refund. All in all we ended up with a saving of over £500 on the original price we payed, so i have to say B&Q were very good to us, and i would happily do business with them again. Steve
  11. I have 3 x Free Spirit Carp Tamer Carp Rods for sale. They are 2.25 test curve and have only been used 3 times. £200 or very near offer. This includes P & P Steve
  12. I agree Rob Not too keen on backleads myself, only use them when margin fishing and if there is no weed
  13. 40.10 Common and it was a very special fish. It was my first fish from Wingham and also Wingham's first ever 40 pounder. and for that reason is one of the most memorable. But i agree that it is not all about size, it is what a fish means to you at the time of capture that counts and the circumstances involved aswell, it could be a 5 pounder or a 45 pounder, it can still mean just as much.
  14. Aaahhhh the adjustable bedchair, what a godsend that was for the session angler, does anyone remember the pain of waking up on the old argos bedchair, if you had to set up on a slope like i had to, and have the back legs folded down so that they was diggin into the small of your back, how i miss the pain. lol. In all seriousnes it has to be the hair rig. Steve
  15. Nice looking carp fella, well done
  16. Hi Gaz My first plan of attack would be to find out as much about the venue before you get there, (ie) Is it a commercial water, and if so does it have a telephone number. If it does there is a good chance you could talk to a Bailiff or even the owner. Ask him as many questions as you can, like, how is the lake fishing at the moment, what swims are producing, what are they being caught on, what tactics etc. If they are any good at there job they should be able to tell you all the information you need. If it doesn't have a phone number then when you get there i would suggest you take a good walk round the lake and look for any signs of fish activity. If anyone else is fishing stop and have a chat to find out if anything has been caught and from what swims etc. If you don't manage to speek to anyone then you will have to rely on observation and try to find signs of fish. If you do spot fish, and if there is a vacant swim then that would be a good a place to star as any. Most importatantly, enjoy it. Hope that helps Steve
  17. Congratulations Steve, another Wingham record, i believe its only a matter of time before the British record is broken from the course lake.

  19. Istead of rolling them when the sausages are on the rolling table, just push the top part of the table onto your sausages to make cushion shapes, I have caught very well on cushions especially when fishing close in.
