  1. Caught 5 bleak just now shiney little fellas
  2. Nice pics... After one of my thumbs got mullered I would have been extra careful with the other How long until there "usable"??
  3. Hiya Andy, Depends on what time you went past. We were there from about 17:30 until about 19:45. Are you talking about at the double steps? We wasn't there but a lil further along (Teddington direction) there are the single steps in the corner. Just fishing above them with rods against the railings. Rgds Marc
  4. Well... I didn't make it to "The Gunge" for the small species on Saturday, but perhaps tomorrow night. I did make it to the Thames today though. Went to Richmond to see how it was. Tidal side there were already people fishing there. Moved to the other side of Richmond Lock and again all the spots worth fishing were taken so we decided to go to Twickenham. Nobody there so had the whole stretch to ourselves .. Only there for about 2 hours and I caught 5 on ledger and my dad caught 2. My best 2 were a Chub of around 1.5lb and a Bream of around 3lb (perhaps a lil more). The other fish caught were a couple of perch a dace and a roach all on maggot. Well happy with my first days fishing this season p.s. excuse the slightly iffy-ish photos.. Only had my phone on me.
  5. HA yeah it is! How do you know it?
  6. Well main reason is just get me used to bites again. Can catch 50+ of the little fellas in there in an hour or two plus ya never know what will be on the end. Still love to just see the float go under. Went there once ONLY to catch a few gudeon as bait but had no maggots so took some smoke sausage stuff and a lil bread. They weren't interested in the meat at all so i put a lil bread on. Float went and i had a roach just under 1lb. Was well chuffed. Tis odd though as could easily catch one from most rivers near me but thats like a huge fish for that park.
  7. Gonna go fishing (first time since new season) tomorrow on a real small river, well more of a stream even if that in a park known as "The Gunge". Tis a horrible little park and the "river" aint much better really but holds lots of Gudgeon, Minnows and Stickleback so shall have a bit of fun with them for an hour or two before hitting the Thames at Richmond on Sunday. To give this thread any sort of a chance of a reply... Whats everyone else doing this weekend?
  8. Serial killer!!!!!!!! Murdering git!!!!!! Ha no idea why they would have croaked to be honest.. Perhaps it was just the heat and they were perhaps on there last legs so to speak.
  9. Well i have no issue with what you have said apart from the end being that the only losers are the fish themselves?? Lets be honest... any fish that doesn't get hooked is gonna be pretty well off. If it gets hooked by your paternoster or the other blokes lure (which in this weather is probably better) its still got some metal through its lip which in the fishes eyes isn't so beneficial.
  10. Ohoooooo I see!! Its structure ay
  11. Oooo awesome snag for someone else
  12. Hiya Andyml Various stretches produce different results with different tactics obviously. The few miles near me are very wide and would be pretty hard to fish for carp. I have seen 1 taken in all the times i've been there (a common at 12lb). Most of the people I see on the stretch by Richmond ledger a mostly catch Eels or the odd large Breem. Float produces a lot of Perch and silvers. Never actually seen a pike or heard of one being taken from there until you get to Teddington. I would like to try further stretches but I don't drive at the mo so will just have to wait Marc
  13. Well like I said the Thames is semi-tidal at Richmond Lock so an hour or so after high tide the gates go down and make the Richmond / Twickenham bridge side non-tidal so you can fish as long as you like... Well until the tide goes out and comes back in and the gates are raised again. A little further and you can fish the back of Twickenham High Street by Eel Pie Island or even further to Teddington and Kingston.
  14. Well I know Richmond Lock is good for float on the semi-tidal side when the gates are down. The river is quite wide there but a nice lil spot under Twickenham bridge. You'd expect it to be a bit crap seeing as the bridge is a road bridge but it doesn't seem to effect the fish.
  15. I live right where the Grand Union joins the Thames in Brentford... Never fished it though.
  16. heh seems not.. I certainly don't but though i'd at least give your thread a reply
  17. Hey Argyll, Where abouts in South London are you from?

  19. Ahhh i'm a big lover of F1! Can't say I plan around it as I haven't started fishing this year yet but come open season we shall have to see
  20. Footy for me I reckon... Perhaps some fishing in some evenings. I took a look earlier and only 1 England match even if we reach the final falls during a time i'll be working. Thats the quarter final if we finish 2nd in the group. We finish 1st and all's good.. no matches during work time
  21. That beach in florida seems quite active with the ol mutants.. Must have been a big spill of some chemical a few years back.. that or he's a total con and makes them.
  22. Ha i've got a John Wilson float rod from like 6 years ago and i'm only 20. Cost about £30 I think. Was great until someone went and stood on it. Fixed it but still not the same.
  23.
