  1. you have pm.Water dropping, getting colder, the lady awaits us....
  2. Am going for a day 1 week on sat. R.Earn. PM me if interested. (4 nov).
  3. seems like a very good idea. I could offer winter grayling fishing.(Earn)
  4. For both species maggot wins especially for grayling, though I'm sure casters would be good for roach. Maybe not at all scientific but i find red maggs better than white for grayling. Loosefeeding works very well but beware, it could be construed as "groundbaiting" which is illegal for game species (and technically grayling are a game species) basically don't overdo it and especially in front of salmon anglers. Use a bait dropper for deeper faster swims. Some bats now ban sweetcorn as people were throwing in enough to feed a shoal of barbel....small trout were unable to digest it. Pikergonecarpin.....are there still roach in any numbers? None in harbour last few times i went. I'd be very interested in roach potential.
  5. you will find all you need at the stirling Angling centre, including a centre pin if you need 1 (you don't but they are excellent). And no i have no connection with the shop. He also sells maggots, good quality, by the pint or half pint ,not in the rip off tubs sold by certain Perth shops. Worth a visit. Rabbit has given good advice. Good luck with the trotting.
  6. try a springer instead of a swinger.

    Grayling

for grayling using a stick float, there is no need for barbless hooks, they are not going to be deeply hooked. This will reduce the lost fish i am sure.If you feeder fish, use barbless as they can gulp down the bait if you aren't careful.
  8. will be in Heemskerk/bakkum after friday...worth packing a rod for some bass/garfish (spin) and maybe mullet ?
  9. The non invertebrate killing sheepdip has now been made illegal in Scotland.I hope that England/Wales will follow suit ASAP if they haven't done already.
  10. never seen 1 for sale.......back to the welding. Most car mechanics will be able to do 1 for you...
  11. No difference really, maybe different species.Plenty of perch etc but most burns/rivers /lochs have trout. There is a helluva lot of BAD fishing/fishers up here. Rainbow Trout are the thickest of fish, easy to catch on a bubble float you could moor a boat to, not so with canal roach !
  12. I used to fish Ulverston Canal about 15 years ago when I lived nearby. I hope to visit again next week on the way south…..wondered if it was still the same ? Still good tench fishing ? etc etc etc…and info welcome ! Thanks in advance.
  13. .100 + carp or 100 + carp fisheries ?
  14. bubble floats / carry out / carry on / sleeping (while under the influence ??) ....no wonder few people are giving you the time of day. You may be ok ayjay but what you describe are common symtoms of crap angling syndrome, usually coupled with loud offensive behaviour and a shed load of litter left behind. If you want to be taken seriously, you need to adopt a different approach to your fishing. What you describe isn't fishing as we know it on this forum.
  15. You have to buy them in advance now, they aren't sold on the bank any more. Local shop/post office i think.
  16. i can't i live in Scotland and am going to fish the Ribble.Don't think they do them on the bank any more....?
  17. Can't seem to find a link to WAA as i want to buy a card (online?). Anyone have contact details ?
  18. I have fished in Karlstad, which isn't too far from Saffle (I think)....gimme a pm if you want . It was very good for all species asnd especially crucians ! Anglers world....they were good on price i have to say but very poor on info...the "map" they gave us looked as if a 10 yr old had drawn it with practically no other info. Maybe they are better now. Keith
  19. Nige had already been given a life ban from a previous pac comittee, he was let back in and then he does this. This time a life ban should mean life.He has proved himself unworthy(and untrustworthy).
  20. I doubt if he will get any sympathy....nor should he. Is there really anything to "explain"? Apologise yes, but that shouldn't save him from a life ban for bringing the PAC and pike anglers in gereral into disrepute.I hope they get a heavy fine and their gear confiscated. And what about Mr.Williams' sponsorship with Masterline? That ought to cease forthwith, if I were in charge of Masterline I would be livid.
  21. have to say they all liiok pretty scenic to me. I'd love to be there , on a canoe or fishing. A bit like arguing you can't enjoy the scenery when playing a 12 lb salmon.....I'd rather catch one in wild surrounds.
  22. I'd take the 5" every time.
  23. only 1 real flaw in that argument...canoeists tend only to need 1 entry and 1 exit point....we as anglers need many, hence the need to "create " swims. Moreover, many a once good swim has been ruined by over zealous work parties.
