Peter M:

My pb is an old cement sack caught while spining on the river stort.  Lovely colour blue and heavy duty plastic i now have it pride of place on my Mantelpiece.

I don't agree with stuffing cement bags.

Catch and release is the only way to go with such rare sacks.

Jeez!

I really can't believe that things have come to this.

Supposedly 'serious' anglers not only wasting time fishing for, but talking about catching shopping bags.

THINGS AREN'T THAT BAD!!!!

There's still plenty of decent sport to be had, and greater challenges, worthy of anyone calling themselves an angler.

Instead of going after plastic bags, why not go after the big stuff - shopping trolleys!

To give you the idea of the kind of sport on offer, here's a recent picture of me about to land a decent one.

(Note how it's shoal mates, still swarm around the trolley as it's being played. If you get it landed and your tackle back into the water quick enough, you'll soon have one of them on too!)

Are you about to gaff it?

Oh!

And here is a picture of a local trolley hotspot that I discovered.

The sport here is truly amazing once the tide comes in.

Trot a float in the current, and it's likely to sink immediately.

A quick strike and you are in, as the rod locks solid.

You simply wouldn't believe the times I've been broken off here!

Excellent fun!

(ps the figure at the top of the stairs is Steve Burke, he simply didn't believe that I'd found a spot that was so packed with trolleys!)

Guest NickInTheNorth

I've heard rumours that there is a secret 1000kg bulk bag mark in deep water just off the Isle of Mull. I'm sworn to secrecy of course, but there is a man that posts here sometimes that could say more...
