Hi Yakity, well done on the progress with the XT

 

Just in after a wee trip off Easthaven to test the leadhead and jellies the guys here suggested. Used a pike spinning rod and 12lb braid but it actually worked!

 

Only 3 4lbers but they were a blast on the light gear. Even managed to winkle a red cod from the kelp on the way in.

 

Got buzzed by the local bottlenose pod too .

 

That enough to "pee" you off?!

 

I'll post more later; got tea to gut, and since my and a m8s wives are away for the weekend an evening of tv football and beer seems on the cards

Well, you have managed it....yep Im green .

I am so pleased you got on with the pike rod and light gear,good fun eh.

So the girls are away too,...it just gets better for you .

Have you had time to look at the new U.K. kayak fishing site,posted in this thread ??.

I think the guy (david) has done a great job,..what do you think ??

Re the tackle box....do you realy want me to answer that .

The Yak I use would handle a F5 SW in the Solent,

without any problems at all.She rides the swell like a Dolphin,........mind you I would have to be on the back of a trawler with it,
