Just heard from Sue.

Tony had his (whole) hip replacement op today.

It went very well and Tony's doing well despite being in a bit of pain.

He's in Medway Maritime Hospital (in Pembroke ward) and expects to be in about a week.

(Strict) Visiting times 3pm to 4pm and 6:30pm to 8pm (Sue's doing the evening visits as she's back to work now :) )

I'm going to try to get along sometime this week to check out the nurses.

Hopefully he'll be back morris dancing, and trudging the banks in no time :)

Sue sends her love to all.

Bloody hell, Leon. Don't do that! I was just round a mate's and had a look at the forum, to see this thread at the top and thought something terrible had happened. Thank God it was 'only' a hip op. :D

Get well soon, Tony. One of the good guys....

Good luck, Tony. Get well soo.

It's also nice to hear that Sue is back at work, too.

One thing I'll give Medway Hospital, is that it does have a 1st class reputation for hip replacement surgery, and the post operative rehab. therapy is pretty good too.

It's a nice change to be able to report something positive about a place where there is locally, so much negativity.

Good news, Tony - just don't attempt Bampton "Flowers of Edinburgh" for a bit (with apologies to non-Morris dancers who won't understand that at all).

Hope you're back on your feet again soon, Tony. An enforced close season is never fun.

I hope it all goes well Tony, and you're soon back on your feet  .

(A bionic Morris dancer...the mind boggles!).

Also great to hear that Sue is OK.

Take care, both of you.

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John
