Carp Or Pike

I chuckled at the thought of some of our resident pike anglers reading this line in the Angler's Mail:

 

I had a steady take and when I struck I thought it was a pike but it soon burst into life and I knew it was a good carp.

 

Personally, I think it's one question that can only properly be answered on Harry Hill's TV Burp. FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!

From what I've been led to believe, pike pull harder but carp can sustain the fight longer. It's long distance runner Vs. the sprinter question.

I don't know simply because I've never caught a carp so I cannot say. Just telling you what I've been told.

Well Ive caught both Andy and Ive never needed to hold on to a tree or do the Vagabond shuffle up the bank for either.

For a serious answer,even though I love pike Ive never had one fight as hard as a carp of the same size or in the same type of water.
