Middle Kennet for me - now there's a surprise. Paul and I have a water booked for Sunday. Big chub and elusive big roach are on the agenda......

If I go I think it'll have to be my latest river spot for whatever fancies trotted maggots. I think the weather is supposed to be ok on Saturday and go nasty on Sunday.

You're not kidding, it's the traditional race to the finish! I have been asked by my partner to 'get out of the house' all weekend so she can do her coursework, and as a doting boyfriend I feel it my duty to bow to her demands. So, I'm going chub fishing both mornings and perch fishing both evenings. It'll mean a lot of walking and driving and I expect to be completely knackered by the end of it, but I'm putting everything into it as I'm sure there are some very big fish of both species mooching about. I don't know what the rivers are like (I've seen the Thames, and it's not pretty) so it may be a real struggle - but if they've dropped in time, it could be really good.

Lobworms bought and a new batch of cheesepaste made, I'm all set :)

(The following Friday is the Kennet fish-in, but as I've never even seen it before I'm treating it as a fun day out. The actual last day will probably be more perch and chub, depending on conditions.)

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

Think I will see how the river crane looks on sat, and do a bit of chubbing, last chance due to work,

It wasn't to good yesterday when I went, but first time since before Christmas, but just need to get out again,

before the end of season, Just hope the weather holds

Was planning a late afternoon session on the Kennet tomorrow for Chub/Barbel. Had to to work late tonight though and so can't be arsed to get everything ready now, It would've been a straight from work trip for at most two hours until the light went.

Will be there Saturday morning though.

Well, you know what I mean! I'm not expecting any specimens because it's a new bit of water, so it's a fun day socialising and catching a few fish. On my own waters I'm deadly serious, never smile, and only care about the big ones.
