Use a similar type of presentation but with fake maggots! Critically balance the fake maggots on a size 8 or 6 mini D hook ( i use the ready done Fox mini D's) Use rig putty on the hook shank to balance. Before u cast out glue a few live maggots to your balanced (madusa rig) and hey presto movement and longeverty!

It's the mutts nutts as u know that u have a working rig that small fry cant demolish before hitting the deck

Pile as many maggots on the hook as you can, but try (if possible) to lightly hook them (might need to go down to a 10 or 12), so they still wriggle well.

Then bang out a feeder rod, with a weighted block end feeder and wait. It's basic, but where the carp take maggots well it does work.

In my experience small stockies tend to take maggots over bigger fish (1 to 4lb sort of size). It's by no means a rule, and it may just be the ponds I fish!!

My 2 cents anyway...

I caught my PB on maggots using the Medusa Rig (maggots super-glued to a cork ball).

I used live maggots on the Medusa Rig and frozen dead's as freebies.
