night sessions for carp are over for me until next summer.

I did a sesh last night and the last thing I wanted was a run.It was nippy.I was tucked up with my quilt and sleeping bag.(snug) :)

I can't believe it was only 3 weeks ago when I was out all night in a T-shirt!

Fair play to you hardcore carpers.

I'm about to run some new elastic through my pole and get back to the good old roach bashing.(daytimes only!)

What extremes do you go to?

Yeah fair enough, but it somehow lost its appeal last night.

I just couldn't be arsed to go and fire out a few pellets at 3 in the morning. :)

Running out of the bivvy with no shoes on in the summer is fine but when there's mud everywhere and its freezing.....nahh..roll on June 16th :D

Doesn't the countryside look so much nicer in frost, though?

And doesn't a cup of coffee taste so much nicer? :)

I'm not bothered about the cold. In fact I much prefer it to the heat of summer. That's one of the reasons why I do more fishing in winter than summer.

However, I'm an all-rounder and don't go overnight carp fishing after the clocks go back. Other species are calling then.

What also puts me off a carp session in winter is the long hours of darkness. I don't mind being inactive during the day when I can watch what's going on, but I couldn't cope with the long winter nights. I take my hat off to those of you who can.

So what's your favourite ways of passing the time at night in winter?
