Centrepin

I know this has been covered before, but since I'm new to 'centrepinning' I would be interested in finding out what everyone else uses and how (float/ledgering etc).

Many thanks. :)

now thats a loaded question .I use my

my AN "AnglersNet" pin for fishing with braid for grayling / light floatwork for silvers on medium to large rivers

my fred crouch "ruby" {red/maroonish match aerial clone} for fishing with flo-cast mono for grayling / light floatwork for silvers on medium to large rivers

My 1920's aerial popular for still waters and ledgering on rivers

my 1960 3 3/4" aerial for floatfishing small rivers

my 1920's "hodder" for ledgering on small rivers

my speedia "super deluxe" narrow drum for floatfishing small / medium rivers

my speedia "super deluxe" wide drum for floatfishing small / medium rivers

My okuma "kennet" for everything else mostly heavier floatfishing or barbel fishing

i have a sidecaster half wooden /half alloy and a old alloy reel but these aren't used just decoration for my shed in the attic

oh and i've a delux narrow drum speedia awaiting a new pin being made one day ,if i ever buy a hobby lathe too turn the pin.

If your asking for a recommendation then you can't go wrong with one of the okumas. I personally like the sheffield and think it's virtually as good as any other pin ever made. I do have several other pins costing more money but when in use in all honesty arn't any better they just look more traditional.

The Anglers Net pin. The only other one I have is the Okuma Sheffield, but the AN is much better. I use it for trotting small rivers, for everything else I use fixed spool reels.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

My Chris Lythe, Paul Witcher & Anglersnet pins get used the most - always for trotting/float fishing.

Below is the Chris Lythe - with a fish caught a few hours ago!

Same as Tigger, difficult to beat the Okumas particularly the Sheffield. Good value, 5 year warranty and spares are readilly available.

If you get into collecting then the sky's the limit. I have 6 (nothing exotic) but any one of them would be fine as an only reel, I didn't say that if my wife asks. I only use mine for trotting a float on rivers, they can be used for ledgering rivers or margin fishing still water but until I've perfected casting I'll use a fixed spool reel for that.

It's never a 'six', let's put it back
