Newt, this computer is so old it's coal-fired.... I've downloaded the file on my 200 baud modem, but I'll have to convert it to 78rpm before I can listen to it!

 

That reminds me - must buy some more needles for the gramaphone.....

 

Seriously, this computer is complete knack since the OS went belly-up a few months ago. I could just install everything again, but I'm only using this one for the internet until I get broadband on the other machine, then I'll get a large hammer and give this mother(board) a re-programming it'll never forget. In the meantime I'll copy the file to CD (if the stupid thing recognises the fact that it actually has a CD) and listen to it on the other one....

John - hang on to that 200 baud modem. It's gotta be worth a fortune.

 

The first commercial modem, the Bell 103, ran at 300 baud so you have a real rarity.

 

We basically jumped from TTY speed (teletypes) of 120 baud to 300 baud all in a single leap so yours has to be an experimental version of some sort.
