OK, so I'm confused.

This thread seems to have periods when there are clever links between the 4 letter word/acronym and the next word.

Then it goes all strange and gets done up with random words and no links at all to the previous post or the next word/acronym.

 

By clever I mean that we had:

LASH = "Leather. A Secret Hobby" New word = WHIP

to

WHIP = "Will Handle It Professionally" New word = PAIN

to

PAIN = "Probably An Injured Nerve" New word = PUSS

 

So our subject matter has gone through S&M into injury and it's delightful consequences but there have been links between both the phrase and the next/previous words.
