I thinking of buying a stalking bucket (maybe two of them, one for carp and one for general course use ) with all the little pockets etc round it for bits and bobs.

(2nd child due any day and need gear ready to grab if a chance to wet a line arises)

I have sen Mr Wilson using the masterline one on the box and it looks good.

Do any of you use a stalking bucket? If so what makes would you recommend?

I use the Fox one, it is almost D shaped in section with four outside pockets and the large inner is lined and split into two.

The pocket at the rear of the outside is perfect for a medium Fox box ( Quite intentional I guess ).

It has two carrying handles and a detachable shoulder strap.

I've had mine for 3 years and use it for most of my river trips, summer floater fishing, etc.

to be fair it's still in good nick and I'd be happy to recommend it.

I think Badger do a copy ( What a surprise! ) Not sure how their quality compares.

Try a Tesco bag, you know wun with a few more bags inside.

my local supermarket is Safeway.

It would be cheaper to buy the bucket than shop in that place!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I reckon a black plastic builder's bucket take some beating, with a guitar strap to hang it off my shoulder with. Strap cost nothing, bucket a quid, sorted!

Yep, I've got two, but as we run a building business they cost nowt (came free with a load of plaster). Old BT conduit is another spin-off from house building - easily converted into a rod case for air travel. I'm constantly amazed at the money charged for angling accessories that can be home-made for next to nothing.

My bucket has holes drilled in the rim every couple of inches around the brim. Makes it ideal for carrying jerk baits when piking.

Home made accesories, can't have them! Won't have the right label on them.

Reckon plumbers merchants are great for anglers, skips are sometimes even better :):):)

I recently brought a wonderfull piece of kit off Ebay.It is a rather cleverly designed lid which fits on to a bucket. It has four lift up lids three of which have compartments and the fourth gives acsess to the main bucket.Brilliant

ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT I CANT FIND A BUCKET IT FITS!

Must be Yank gallons

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!
