It's cool Rudd, but now have a house full of

Deban kids.

Deban have givern the kids the option to go home,

these lads mums & dads are at work so they have

come round here with my boy.

I only partially agree with you, as does Peggy, who retired as a Head Teacher less than 2 years ago. It's all a question of a sensible balance, and it's this that's out of kilter.

 

In fact, at least one school in Kent got a rap on the knuckles from the authorities for closing without due cause. I suspect that this was after complaints by parents.

 

The real culprit of course is the compensation culture we now have. As you say, schools are scared of being sued by parents.

 

Unfortunately, parents take less and less responsibility for their children. This also applies to their behaviour, but that's another story altogether.
