Monster Cod Caught on Greys Excursion

I dont want to go on about it but a cod that size is common in Norway! I caught mine on a shimano exage 20-30lb travel rod with a policansky 2b and 30lb braid. The coleys and cod to 15-20lb were caught on a shimano exage 8 ft travel spinning rod and cheap shimano fixed spool reel with 15lb braid. Go there before they have all gone.

B) To be honest, to catch a cod that size is nice but as cod aren't exactly known for their tackle smashing runs and dives, any competant angler should of been able to land it on gear as heavy as that, it's hardly a recommendation for the quality of the gear. Had it been 12-20, or even 20-30 class gear maybe, but, no, as I said, not exactly a recommendation for the quality of the rod. :(

My point exactly!!! Not an uncommonly large fish for Norway and caught on a "normal" rod, however it was not an easy retrieve in shallow water believe me, but the Coalies were much better fighters.
