That's it

This is the last winter I am spending here. I am too old for this s***

We still have a foot of snow and the temperature outside at the moment (14.30) is minus 11'C :huh:Even the dogs won't go outside anymore, we have to carry them out to empty them and it's been like this for two weeks. We are told more snow by the end of the week.

We just had our first burst pipe of the year (actually a compression fitting pushed apart! (Where do you find a 15 ml Olive when you want one, especially when the nearest olive shop is almost 20 miles away)

We are having to keep the heating on 24/7 just to protect the plumbing and there is a small whirlpool forming in the bottom of our oil tank.

We are going through coal and logs at an alarming rate. Its like burning ten pound notes in the grate <_<

On what we are spending on keeping warm we could be living the life of Riley in France or Spain so 2010 is the year I do it.

Haven't quite decided where yet, I favour France (the fishing is better) and my wife favours Spain (It's warmer in the winter) but I am getting to the point where I don't really care, as long as it's not here.

Well, rant over, a period of calm is called for I think, now where did I put that bottle!!!!

A friend of mine has been in France for about 3 years now and says he likes it.

He's got a couple of small lakes and about 15 acres of woodland to go with a couple of dwellings.

He's about 50 miles inland from La Rochelle, I think.

Cold there at the moment!

He says he could never afford to buy the equivalent in England.

He says he might consider Scotland next, because of the property values.

I would love a property with a lake. Not bothered about massive carp but some good mixed fishing, roach, tench etc, and somewhere that I can fish with the pole.

The cold there doesn't worry me too much. The area that I fancy in Limousin was 16'C this afternoon. We had minus 12 and the village just up the road (Braemar) had minus 18 today.

Your friend may find property prices have changed a bit in Scotland although they are still value when compared with the South of England.

Anywhere must be more affordable than Weymouth!

Average house price is 15 times the average local yearly income.

We are up to 3' of snow in the garden. Thankfully no wind so there is no drifting.

The forecast is for "significant" snowfall tonight.

No sign of a thaw for at least two weeks.

Some fabulous photos to be taken and I am out of batteries <_<

Thats because the town has cornered the market in the uk for the best angling skippers, fishing. :D And the most persistant traffic enforcement officers. don't forget the olympics in 2012 :boat:

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Couldn't you manage your Martinis without one, given the exceptional circumstances? :D
