Thawing fast, looking as if I may finally get out tomorrow after having been stuck here for the lasy 10 days

We had a bit of a thaw, icicles fell off the roof etc. but still 18" of snow on the drive.

Tonight we can expect more snow and 60mph winds

All you have to do is get Sportsman to join you down there, its got to be warmer than France and the food and the fishing is better. :)

The waters not turned solid, so I'm guessing that at least must be better.

This is very true. The problem is that the area of Spain that I tend to go to doesn't have much fresh water, hard or otherwise.

There is one lake within about a 2 hour drive.

Maybe there is more water in other areas so if anyone knows of an area (other than the Ebro) that has good freshwater fishing in Spain I would be interested.

Andalucia, around Arcos de La Frontera there are a number of reservoirs with good numbers of carp and Barbel in them and the occasional Black Bass, you also have trout fishing available around Benomahoma and El Bosque in the Rio Majaciete; I would think that would be a reasonable alternative to the Costa Blanca.

Or you could try the northern Costa Brava around Calella de Palafrugel to Estartit good fishing on the Riu's Set and Ter and trout fishing in the Pyrenean foothills. Then there's Galicia or the Asturias, need I go on?????
