Reels

Can anyone recomend a really good all round match reel. I've just spent quite a lot of money to get myself fishing again after a long time away from the ponds and lakes. I have bought a Shimano Catana 3000 (as well as a lot of other tackle)which does the job quite nicely but i would like to use it as a backup and have a decent match reel to use 90% of the time. I'm willing to spend upto about £90

Dragonbat, I would like to "balance" your Shimano comment "over-priced and over-rated".

I have used Shimano reels for too many years to remember.

I currently own 12 ,including TLD 30,s, Sedona 3000, Aero 6010, Aero 3500 ,Aero 4500 and Stradic models.

They have never given me any problems, despite being used very regularly.

I believe they represent very good value for the money.

can you drop them like "real " mitchell 300`s :)

talking about the mitchell match i found it the most annoying reel ,the line was always getting caught round that otherwise excellent "dab bail" ,for general float fishing i still use an abu 506 ,and for carping i use my diawa brt something or others (couldnt afford a pair of shimano`s at the time

I would also recommend the Okuma reels..I'm onto my 3rd.They price better than any other reel, feel like a million dollars, lay line better than most reels I've seen, cast without any friction, peel off for float fishing and the drag doesnt slip intermmitantly when playing a fish....plus they look awfully sexy....a bit like Ferraris.Brrm Brrm.
