Do you take your best friend fishing?

I'm talking about your pet dog by the way.

I personally think its a shame when clubs ban all dogs from the riverbank.

If you've got a well trained dog and you're a responsible owner, then why shouldn't dogs be allowed to enjoy our great sport/hobby as well?

I know I'm sort of lucky as I know a few farmers, so I get away with it, but theres alot of places I'd like to go where I know its a No-Go.

I know its got to be done as there are some irresponsible dog owners about, but if you've got a dog you take fishing then post!

P.S-They are great bite/security alarms.

I used to take my German Sheperd (sadly no longer with us). it was realy strange how she would let some people come up & talk to me about how i was doing without even stirring but some she would take an instant dislike too, growling & baring her teeth.

they know you know :D:D

My terrier and I team up when we go carping. She is great at spotting people from a long way off and never lies. She spends hours on rat sentry in the porch of my canopy during the night. When my Delkims sound she gets out of the way because she knows there will be action from me. I am a member of P.A.A.C. who just ban dogs from ALL of their waters, in fact we used to go to a small piece of river together but now P.A.A.C have got it I have to go alone. When my tackle and me leave without her she spends all day and night listening for me behind the front door and I miss her like mad.

I,ve had various dogs over the years, the first, named "Pooch" came everywhere with me, even to Redmire Pool in the 60's!

My present dogs are Jack Russells and the older one used to come with me to Larkfield but wasn't allowed on the other waters I fished and I found it very hard to have to leave him at home. He has a "brother" now so I hope he doesn't get lonely.

I couldn't even envisage taking my greyhound - she'd get bored in about 5 minutes and start being a nuisance. And she'd find some way to hurt herself and then scream about it for 5 minutes like someone was trying to disembowel her. And she'd find something to be scared of as well, just for good measure!

Yes, my dog is a complete wuss!

Now this should liven things up while Elton is away.

JackPike Isnt there enough dog poops on the banks already answer YES.

But it is the owner that is at fault not the dog.

A few years bag had a big bust up with dogowner down the road he was letting his dogs crap on my grass verg outside my house just to upset me and my neighbour he would bring all his 3 dogs just to crap on the verg which I cut and keep weed free.

To cut a long story short after a big shouting match he went off in a huff about 3 hours later came back ****. It kicked of again, off he went after a good shouting match. Off down the cop shop went I to inform the police him he steped on my land again he would get a good belting.

About 1 hour later he is back just about to kick the **** out of him and along come the police and arrest him drunk and disorderly the charge and I got a telling off.

This very day he has never let his dogs **** on the grass along our road.

Yes I have dog with me fishing its my mates black lab as my mate owns the lake.

Lets ban Dog Owners:-
