I dont think it's much of a surprise really to be honest. The higher powers are always proving their inadequacy in some way or another. If it's not one department it's another. Just goes to show yet again that in our backward country crime does pay. These people who were caught will probably claim damages for being wrongfully charged or something daft like that.

If this wasn't so pathetic, it would be funny, no, scrub that, it'd bloody hilarious!

The old saying, "Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practise to deceive", springs to mind, (only it's not the first time). Trying to push the legislation through hidden under the cover of the eel ban, has backfired, and they have been made to look as foolish as many of us believed they were.

It's good to know that the (self appointed) Governing body for anglers, scrutinises all the proposed legislation to such an extent though, after all they do have anglers best interest at heart.

The power to check licences by other licence holders, has been changed for a while now, it's been mentioned several times on here.

I do like the way that the Telegraph shows a picture of Chris Yates as typifying your average poacher though. :D

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

Well i would call it headline grabbing. it does not cost them anything and apart from making noises that is all it is thankfully.

So, because they was in a rush to get the worthless eel ban sorted they cocked up, excellent. all at the cost to the licence and taxpayer.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Therein lies the rub.

But blimy, what a comprehensive by-law. They must have spent ages drafting that. I imagine it must have cost us all a pretty penny  I wonder if it's pacified the eel fishermen or the rsa?

Certainly hasn't done diddly squat for the eel stock, it's taken the eu, defra, all the other eu countries defra's B) the e a, all the other countries e a's B) The secular huggers, the a t, tom cobbly, more than ten years to get to this position, yet what about the eel stock it's self? The plight of the eel has certainly kept that lot busy at the taxpayers expence, worth every penny? Cept the a t, that was at the members expence of course.

Liken it to the Caine film, i have a plan.
