I'm a non driver so getting out and about with 2 piece rods isn't easy, that's why i've been looking at a couple of good brand named tele's,a Daiwa samurai tele carp and the Wychwood Rogue tele carp, does anyone know what these rods are like?

thanks in advance

I think shimano also make a decent travel carp rod, or used to. Don't know anything about them though I'm afraid - I guess it depends on what waters you fish; distances, weed etc (and the depth of your pocket).

I have a couple of the Wynchwood Rouge tele rods and they are good for the money but are never going to compare to 2 piece rods ,I have 2 of the Shimano Exage multi piece rods and they are great good action but fairly thick blank due to multi piece but good action .

A mate has some of the old DAM Andy Little tele rods and they are well worth a look if you can find some secondhand Steve.

We are not putting it back it is a lump now put that curry down and go and get the scales

have I told you abouit the cruise control on my Volvo ,,,,,,,bla bla bla Barder rod has it come yet?? and don`t even start me on Chris Lythe :bleh::icecream:

Dales has a Shimano Exage multi piece too and he loves it as well, it's around £80-£90 I think, but it looks good value for money.

Yeah I bought a pair of 2 3/4 TC rods a few years back to use before I could drive, a bit clumpy looking and not as sexy and slim as my 2 piece rods but they do the job and the action is good for a rod made up of so many sections and great now to take on holidays. I often use them for marker work and spodding and they are still in top nick.

The tubes they come in are very big and I never used to take them with me on the bus, but when left out of the tubes they take up very little space and are strong enough to take a few knocks with out causing any damage.

Not a carp rod, but I've just bought a Sonik SK4 four piece 10' spinning rod for travel rod duties, and it's a cracking rod. Casts a dexter wedge like a bullet. Comes in a rigid cordura covered case like their fly rods. Not quite what you're looking for, although I'd have no qualms about using it for light carp fishing, but shows that a four piece travel rod can still have a really good action.

Thanks for the replies guy's,i've had the more expensive multi piece rods that imo are very good, but i'm wanting something that I won't mind getting knocked about during travel or on the bank and some cheap but half decent tele's would fit the job I think.

Cheers

Daz, try looking in France etc as a LOT of anglers will only use telescopic rods here and they are sold more here than in the UK as they are more accepted.

Try googling such as Mondial peche? And also have a look at ZEBCO as they are pretty good on telescopic rods. I'll have a look myself and get back to this thread if I see anything.

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))
